Loaned to Granada for the season, confirmed.

The 20-year-old centre-back will spend the remainder of the current campaign with the La Liga side, who are currently 10th in Spain's top flight.

Ilori joined the Reds on transfer deadline day last September, sealing a switch to Anfield from Portuguese giants Sporting CP.

The Reds' No.26 has yet to make a first-team appearance for the club, but has been named on the substitutes' bench three times and featured for the U21s.

We should do the type of loan deal that Barca do; we give a discounted rate the more games he plays for them so it rewards Granada for picking him to play as opposed to sitting on the bench.

That is a good idea. Knock 10% off wages/loan fee per 10games he plays etc.

Any chance he can breakthrough next year (@gkmacca, @Modo and others who watch the ressies)?

[article]Tiago Ilori says he will return to Liverpool with renewed hunger after completing a loan move to Granada.

The Portuguese centre-back hasn't made a first-team appearance since moving from Sporting Lisbon in the summer for around £7m.

The signings of Mamadou Sakho and Kolo Toure over the summer, plus the return to form of Martin Skrtel have seen the defender's chances limited with the five-time European champions.

However after inking a season-long deal with the La Liga side, Ilori said: "Liverpool are a great team, they have great players and it’s difficult to get a chance, but I hope I’ll get to play more games next season.

"At the start of the season I played some friendly games, then I couldn’t get to play every week, but I’ll be at 100% soon. I’m here [at Granda] to gain experience, get minutes in games and hopefully I can help Granada and then next season, hopefully I can play at Liverpool.

"I’ll be trying to play as often as I can, doing the best I possibly can, gain experience and become a much better player."[/article]

Personally, yes, absolutely. He's very mature, strong and assured. He should be with the first team all the time as far as I'm concerned when he comes back.
