Only because he's not playing for the reserves.People should get banned for thread titles that is just a players name.
The Ilori signing doesn't look all that clever at the moment.

Thommo was in the first team by Ilori's age. I thought we were supposed to be getting more open to giving youth a chance.
You realise this is an exercise in futility don't you?Aye, cos what was de rigeour 30 years ago should be replicated nowadays.
Hold on til I put this fucking response in an envelope and post it to you while I'm at it.

He's 18, give it time.
He's 20 I think
21 next month.
But can we please keep a defender past the age of 23, I mean we were quick to get rid of Paletta and San José and they seem to be doing pretty well now.
17.What age was Flanagan when you wrote him off?
So has he played for the reserves or not? Why is @Ossi so upset?
oops.. oh well, he's young and as Modo said, it sometimes takes time.
I think it does too - central defenders are rarely particularly good at age 20.
The worry is that by buying him at this stage of his development then plonking him in the reserves behind four established first team centre backs (I'm not even considering Coates or Wisdom in the equation) runs the risk that we stall his development and cost ourselves a nice wedge that could have been used more wisely in strengthening the first team.
I can only think a deal to sell Agger / Skrtel fell through. Otherwise the deal doesn't make much sense to me.

Aye Ross, but as you and I were told by the masses at the time: selling Agger for 20M last summer would have been a "terrible idea".
Thankfully we were schooled properly on that one.

What's the story, mourning Illori?
I enjoyed my balamory song reference but whatevs
LoserSlightly more niche that one though. Plus I fucking HATE Balamory.
Yeah this is always a concern. It's a shame in a way because he's looked the part for the reserves - well above the standard of his team mates, and he looks like he could be moulded into that tall, commanding presence that reads the game well. Something we've lacked since Hyypia.
