He's played a lot for the ressies mate.
I doubt any English team would take an 18 year old CB on loan, and give him first team experience. If they do, they'd probably put him at full-back.
Any loan where he gets first team experience at CB, playing against quality opposition week in and week out is good with me. We need to handle this exactly like how Chelsea handled the Courtois and De Bruyne loans.
He's a superb talent by all accounts, and I want him to be Sakho's long-term partner at CB. Unfortunately, I don't see him breaking into the first team at the cost of experience unless he has a decent amount of it himself. Send him out on loan for 2 years if that's what it takes. I just want him playing first-team footy on a weekly basis in a top division.

Ooops! My bad in that case. Just read (another) article were it said he had yet to play for the ressies. I'm glad that is the case though. If he's good enough for La Liga he should be good enough for the Championship and get used to the English style. Either way it would be good to loan him out.
Thommo was in the first team by Ilori's age. I thought we were supposed to be getting more open to giving youth a chance. Ilori is very mature for his age, he's no nervous spotty herbert who gets nervous training with the first team. Forget the idea of him having a long wait for a chance - he needs first team chances either here or elsewhere on loan.
Sporting are doing well challenging Benfica and Porto in the league this season. Would it have been better if he'd stayed there till end of the season before coming over?
That's what I've heard, and I'm greatly concerned by this information.
Macca is right, he should be playing for someone's first team by now (either us or on loan). It's criminal that he's being overlooked by our reserve coaches
