Is that how you Penangites cook Hokkien Mee?

(must be the island mentality)

Hokkien Mee has to be thick, black and dripping with oil and lard..then again I have some friends who look like that.

And the best Hokkien Mee I know is located in a hawker stall in a back alley which is infested with rats, roaches and cats with garbage everywhere.

Needless to say, the noodles are fantastic 😀

ah avvy, that is penang hokkien mee

kayel hokkien mee is like this:

but where is the deep fried lard (pork scratchings)?

the mint is kinda random, you usually eat it with hummus and tabouleh

or it could also be spread...

Kibbeh_003.jpg

this, you eat with yogurt mixed with garlic and chopped cucumbers.

Is it the one with cooked yogurt...I really don't like that one.
I never knew it was kurdi/iraqi, always thought it was a lebanese, palestinian or syrian dish

i think it is the lebanese national dish but the only time i eat it is with families of iraqi or kurdish descent. yemenites also have a delicious version. it's a common food across the middle east.

The 2nd and 3rd dishes on this page look fucking horrid.

You Asians don't half eat some mad shit.

ray, scrutum pulled out are pointed

so it is common middle east fare... would love to taste some, sometimes

dave: the worse it looks, the tastier it is mate

ahhhh....there we are...yummy... 😀

eh?....the lard is right there on the plate,i think.

It's funny tho, I love it...but my brother and father both hate it

(my father actually has a phobia about it because he first saw some people eat it when he was 7 years old and asked my Grandfather why they were eating earthworms  )
