Theres no exageration there were times when we simply couldn't get the ball or had the willingness to get the baal off wigan and they just started passing round one touch tippy tappy style and it was embarrassing.

It's a huge exaggeration. There's no need for it when saying how bad we played. It's just aimless hyperbole that helps no one. But carry on - this forum's returned in full rant mode.

My brother (Man U supporter) just called and said "you made Wigan look like Barcelona, they outplayed you at times". So maybe there's something too it.

I didn't watch the game so I can't say how bad we played all I KNOW is we have played good football at times and far too often not got the reward that our football deserved. if people want to say that we've been mostly shit this season then more power to you but I think we are a team that is desparately low on confidence especially when recently we have put in a lot of effect and dominated teams only to end up with nothing. we didn't deserve to lose the arsenal or QPR game and that is bound to hit the confidence of the team hard.

I keep reading "we play good football" all the time but what's the point if it's not effective?

the point is you build on good peformances. I am willing to give a manager time and patience if they are building toward something, that is why I want kenny to have another year but wanted hodgson gone.

Do you really think they looked like they were trying hard but just suffering confidence issues?

It looked to me like no one gave a fuck. Like they'd maybe had a big bust up in the week and instead of it rallying them had made them think 'fuck it'.

I can't really say but losing a two goal lead with minutes to go, losing to a side that you've dominated with their only 3 shots on goal (that's QPR and arsenal) is going to hit your confidence hard so when the game is slipping away from you there is a lack of fight because you've lost a bit of belief. I remember gua saying in the summer that the players were picked because they had character, well I think comolli needs to refine his hiring process as it seems this current team couldn't fight it's way out of a wet paper bag.

Jesus Modo whats going on..... I agree thats the 2'nd time someone has agreed with you today!

I dunno, maybe I'm blossoming like Lucas.

I hate to say it but Man U can dominate a game like we can in midfield, difference is they can break defensive lines because their movement in the final third is sublime at times.

We already have a striker (Suarez) with the right skills, now we're only missing someone who can provide the passes.

Maybe haven't expressed myself clearly before but the only player I wished for during the summer was someone who could play behind the striker(s), like Mata for instance.

I think morale and motivation at the club must be pretty low. To start the season with top 4 ambitions and end up competing for 7th with god knows who is pretty embarrassing.

It'd be nice if they could get their shit together and finish the season with a bit of dignity though.

Hi everyone

Glad the site is back up again. Just want to say that there are a load of negative threads and I totally understand that. However, anyone who has watched our team play and dominate games and hit the post so many times cannot honestly say we are shit - because we are not. To me its simple we just need that goal-hanger fox in the box and our problems are sorted. We have shown in the games against the big boys that we can outplay them and create a load of chances against them, we have also shown that against the lesser sides. What we have also shown consistently is how rubbish we are at scoring goals - that is the big problem in our side.

I think Kenny has moved us forward by making us a passing team again, and getting our first cup in x many years. So what if we keep losing in the league now ? - whats there to play for right now ? pride ? - yes but I would rather we were 100% fit for the cup games without exerting ourselves in these remaining games. The chances of us getting a CL place is now slim to nothing. I don't blame the players - as I think they are all thinking about the next season when it comes to the league.

Agreed we're clearly not shit, we play well at times. We can beat the best but struggle against the worst. Kenny hasn't had a full season yet, start to finish, so give him that and see how it goes next year.

We're really frustrating to watch at the minute but I still stand by Kenny, I do however have some concerns over him getting big money to spend after some of the players that have arrived but Commoli has as much responsibility for signings as anyone.

It's been a disappointing season in terms of the league but I still have a good feeling about next season. If Kenny is the wrong man for the job he'd quit before running us into the ground.

Yes, yes and yes.

I read Dalglish say something like - We are paying the price of our own success.

Right.

We struggled big time to beat Cardiff in a League Cup Final, and now we are using that win as an excuse for looking pathetic against QPR, Wigan, Sunderland .....

And I read something else said by Dalglish - We must change our philosophy ... to quote ... "maybe we have to not play the lovely football that we have been."

Is he taking this piss?

Abandon our lovely football? ... 3 simple passes followed by a long ball into the channel is not a philosophy nor is it lovely football ... its football you expect to see from a side managed by Sam Allardyce.

I agree in that we have to abandon this pathetic coward style of football ... but to have this current style labelled as lovely is a piss take.

Yeah you know Im alone in thinking we're shit.
Why dont you go start a thread called it's all peachy and we can still get 4th.
I don't think it's peachy and I'm going to wait till the end of the season to see where we're at in league. Like I said, this thread is at the level of it's originator.

When we were drawing against shite teams most people on here said it was a dip and we'd soon find our level. As I said at the time, our players were playing out of their skins back then just to get draws, the last month has shown them find their level.

I cringed at the 'tiredness' comment. It's the latest in a long line of excuses that have been offered up this season.

Like everyone else, I'd prefer not to stare down the barrel of someone else's '5 year plan' but, really, what else is there? I'm not sure I see the benefit in persisting with most of this crop of players purely for the sake of continuity. A lot are simply not good enough.

Last summer's transfer activity was the most damaging the club has ever engaged in, and there's plenty of competition for that accolade.

When it comes to our midfield and strike force, apart from Gerrard, Suarez and Bellamy, I wouldn't give you a fiver for the rest. Both areas are regularly outplayed by most teams in the League and need a complete overhaul.

I didn't want Kenny to get the job in case things went pear-shaped and he copped abuse. Well they have, and he is. Sad times.

Looking at the League table is uncomfortable. And it could get worse unless we buck up. Being 31 points off the leaders is bad enough but only being 6 points ahead of the team in 14th place is frightening.

And if you re-read the original post you'd notice that it was a complaint directed at the players not the manager.
You can wait all you want, league wise we're not getting anywhere.
The Fa cup is the only thing on the table atm.

Yep, try to win the FA Cup and get as high as possible in the league. Nothing wrong with that. Where did I say anything about players or the managers?

I just think this thread is described in the title of the thread.

Regularly out-played? Have you been watching the games? Words like "dominated the game but didn't finish" are the medias/posters favourite saying for us.

Like one of the journos on talk sport was saying about us today, the biggest problem is when you're not playing well and Liverpool aren't having that problem. He also thought a lot of fans are too impatient and unfair towards Kenny.

He's right about the impatient and fairness.
