I think we now see the impact De Gea had on their results when he had his insane form last season. When he is just an ordinary goalie they struggle big time. A goalie can save you points and help your team as well as establish the confidence in the squad. But he can't mount a title challenge alone. On the other side, an ordinary goalie will not help his team mount a real title challenge, which we saw clearly last year when we had most other ingrediens for a title challenge, including momentum.

I think he's gone. It's unfortunate but increasing reports he has lost the players and you can see it watching them play.

He's there now in his Manchester hotel room, on another boring Sunday, deconstructing and reconstructing his Corby trouser press, listening to Wings, cleaning his special large dinner plate, and calling room service for the Portuguese porn channel. It must be hell for him. We shouldn't begrudge him this merciful release. I hope he never, ever, returns to English football.

I don't think they'll sack him yet, thankfully. He won't be there next season, though. It depends on how bad it gets for them, but I don't think they'll sack him mid-season. Especially with the Champions League still to play for.

Do they have a separate portugese porn channel? That must be a real boring one. That is a cold and correct bunch of people...

Do you still consider Maureen that great?
This was probably his hardest managerial post ... No proven game winners, no defenders of the highest quality and he's tanked. Time for him to manage PSg ...

His record is as good as anyone in the game but he certainly looks to have let the media get in his head.
He still won trophies at Utd but he’s taken then backwards in the last 3 months for sure.

I believe they employ people from their ex colonies.
Think Brazil. Not so cold, is it?

I spent a good six weeks in Setubal (Accidentally Mourinhos hometown) some years back. We went a little overtime on a yardstay that was supposed to take 10 days. It was a lot of fun but everyone agreed that the Brazilians make Portugal smile. So the portugese themselves are a different kind.

John Barnes managed the Tories to a five nil pre conference defeat against a team of journalists yesterday.

The media get into his head? He created the media issues in every single post - it's part of his tactics, which is why he's out after 3 years.

They can't be arsed anymore, but I wish it wasn't so statistically obvious so it would drag out longer. Here's to them getting fucked by Valencia tomorrow anyways.

Sorry - I cant buy into this "I hope they win so Maureen gets to stay a bit longer". I get the logic, but I can never ever wish for a Utd win, I want and need them to getter utterly humiliated every time they take to the field. If they were playing a charity friendly against a bunch of 8 year old school girls I would be willing the wee ones to break every single manc leg they can

I agree With Your sentiments, and this is really a done deal. Mourinho will leave sooner rather than later. I mean, if they manage to scrap a 1-0 at Valencia it doesn't change much does it. Even if ManU has proved themself as that pathetic club who was saved by the enormous power and control Fergie had over media/FA (UEFA not, hence they were struggling big time in their competitions) for almost a decade (I'll give them credit for being a good team in the 90's), I doubt they will change their mind becuase they could win a game. Mourinho is off when there is a international break. There is no way he can turn this, and I don't believe he wants to turn it either. He just want them to sign the cheque for the reminder of his contract so he can fuck off from there.
