Drink was consumed.
I'm using a special clause which refers to the attendance of overseas SCM'ers which permits the use of the term "Drinkies" as long as said Drinkies are consumed during a game.
Besides - if the fuckers from London can sit around in smoking jackets drinking Pimms & Lemonade & call it Drinkies - them me trying to plough through as many different beers as possible in a few hours must be accepted.
I demand a review...

Your point regards the London drinkies is a good one, & I'd be all for a review of the their use of the term retrospectively.
It was exceptional circumstances that lead to this particular date being picked ie it was the only one that Stevie was in town.
The fact that this date was not conducive to some/many of the attendees being able to consume much/any alcohol did not impact on numbers and in the face of such sober adversity much revelry was still had.
On a different more agreeable date the consumption of alcohol would not be a talking point.
I therefore plead the case for the the reinstatement of the term "Drinkies" into the title of the recent Dublin soiree.
As an aside it was nice to meet you Stevie. It was a shame that I couldn't join you in sampling those beers.
Hopefully I pointed you in the right direction beer wise.

I reckon I had about 8 pints and it would have been plenty more if I wasn't up at 4am to go to the airport.

I've thought long & hard about this, & have decided, that due to the compelling case of extenuating circumstances & stevies account of drinks consumed, that we will allow this event to use the 'drinkies' moniker.
Future events, however, will have to do much more to live up to the high expectations the brand requires though.
