Just need a draw not a win. We will get topsy turvy results until the side fixes personnel issues .

ok, we are losing. the horseshoe should be the other way around, with the opening up, so the luck doesnt run out

Hopefully Ibou, Thiago, and Nunez be back for this one.

Liverpool were forced to be without a further two senior players at Nottingham Forest, but just what does the current injury list look like for the Reds?
It’s consistently been one step forward and two back for Jurgen Klopp‘s side where injuries are concerned, as was witnessed over the weekend.

Just eight senior players have avoided any issue so far, while a total of 19 have all succumbed to one issue or another to miss a combined 119 games – and counting.
There are three names on the long-term injury list and five others that Klopp will be eager to use before the World Cup break in just 19 days’ time.
So what is the latest on those currently sidelined?

Darwin Nunez

Injury: Hamstring
Out since: October 19
Expected return: Ajax (A)

After scoring the winner against West Ham and with momentum on his side, it was typical Liverpool misfortune that saw Nunez end the match with a minor hamstring complaint.
It was enough to rule him out of Saturday’s fixture but Klopp was optimistic that it will be a one-game absence.
“Darwin should be back, this game was just too early,” Klopp said on Saturday. “I think another day of recovery would have helped him. At least that is my knowledge in the moment.”

Thiago

Injury: Ear infection
Out since: October 22
Expected return: Ajax (A)

An ear infection on the morning of the trip to Forest sent Thiago to the hospital before he was later driven home, with the issue enough to keep him out of the match.
The hope is he will have recovered in time for Wednesday’s trip to Ajax.

Ibrahima Konate

Injury: Muscle
Out since: October 12
Expected return: Ajax (A)

Konate has missed Liverpool’s last three games with a muscle injury but the manager did confirm that “Ibou will train” from the start of the week.
With his time out extending to ‘just’ two weeks, there should be little concern about injecting him straight back into the team. An extra body in defence will be welcomed.

Injury: Thigh
Out since: August 21
Expected return: November, now back in full training

Keita has played just five minutes this season but is now back in full training, but there will be no rush on his return to the pitch as he first needs to get match fit.
“His pre-season, if you want, football pre-season starts then, more or less,” Klopp explained.
“There are a lot of football games to play and I can’t wait to have him back properly.”

Joel Matip

Injury: Calf
Out since: October 9
Expected return: November

What was initially said to be a two to three-week return timeline now appears slightly longer for Matip, with Klopp’s last update, pre-West Ham, saying he is “still a little bit away.”
It is Matip’s second injury of the season having missed three games earlier in the campaign with what was described as a “strange” injury.
He will surely be expected to return before the World Cup break.

Luis Diaz

Injury: Knee
Out since: October 9
Expected return: After World Cup

There was no surgery required for Diaz’s knee injury, leaving a recovery schedule of six-to-eight weeks.
He will be pencilled in for a return against Aston Villa after Christmas with the hope he can get back up to speed during Liverpool’s World Cup break in Dubai.

Diogo Jota

Injury: Calf
Out since: October 16
Expected return: After World Cup

A serious injury for Jota has led to World Cup heartbreak, with his calf injury keeping him out of action for the foreseeable future.
There is no definitive timeline but that Klopp said “we will wait for him like a good wife waits for her husband in prison,” doesn’t bode well.
He has used the phrase for serious long-term injuries in the past, but Reds will be hoping the No. 20 is the exception – but either way, he will not be seen until 2023.

Arthur

Injury: Muscle
Out since: October 4
Expected return: January/February 2023

The first half of his season ended before it ever got up and running and the severity of his injury required surgery, which is to keep him sidelined for anywhere between three to four months.
Another Red not to see any minutes until 2023.

I think we need more moaning

You don’t have to worry about that, it will always be around 😀
I agree a good vent helps, not against that at all.
my response does not say anything about stopping moaning. It’s been read wrong.
Anyway fuck off and moan !

Klopp got the balance all wrong against Forest, people are right to moan. We might have injuries, but Jones was unfit, and there's a clear lack of balance when you play Fabio and Elliott in the same side, without the right level of fight around them. It was a bad line up, but the way things are I don't expect it to get much better until after the WC break. Then we have to treat the restart like a new season and get our shit together.

I don't think he wanted to do any of that, though.

I can't think of a side we could have fielded where I'd think, wow. That'll definitely do it.

Im still hoping it does get better, if a few of the key players return soon from injury.
I’ve not given up yet 😀

Edit; We gonna smash Ajax, if the players due back, are back..
because I can’t put up with more games like the last.
we will win 3-1

Do you think Jones was a better option to go with in midfield than Trent? I don't, even though Trent hasn't "technically" played there, he was a million times more likely to make something happen, than Jones.

I don't think Trent is prepared at all to play in midfield. But maybe I'm wrong, the point is we are musing over whether we should play Jones, who is fresh back from injury and has been poor for a year, or our most out of form player, out of position.

There's no good option there. That's what we've done to ourselves.

Surely Trent is less of a liability in midfield than he is at right back. Also if Elliot and Carvalho and Jones can play in midfield surely Trent can too? I know he's getting a lot of stick but he's not that incapable of playing in midfield. I honestly think Klopp is a bit stubborn sometimes at least try Trent in midfield.

I think Trent could easily be more of a liability in midfield. The way we get fucked right now is poor decision making in the center of the pitch, losing the ball needlessly in transition, and then getting deep dicked as we scramble to get back. It's a harder position to play and requires a more defensive outlook in our team, with a lot of discipline.

If we’re going to play Trent, we should probably play him at Centre Forward, where his lack of defensive abilities won’t harm us and wandering off into space high up the field is actually a bonus.

Have any of the people suggesting Trent for midfield seen how poor he is positionally and tracking runners? He will just be wandering around slowly and spamming Hollywood diagnol passes to the left wing all day like an LA Galaxy era David Beckham

Funny you mention that, as if Trent were to play midfield, you'd have to play him in a 4-4-2 as a RM, ala Beckham at United.

Here's my reasoning for why I say Trent would be less of a liability in midfield.

When you're in defence you're pretty much the last line of defence... You make a mistake and more or less a goal.

In midfield yes Trent can play the same way but at least there's someone behind him to potentially bail out the situation.

I'm willing to be proved wrong on what I just said but to me this makes common sense.

I think Trent would offer something similar to Ox defensively as a midfielder – not someone to anchor the defence, obviously, but can use his athleticism to run back and put in a tackle or an interception when he feels like it. He can be part of the press too. I think it would be interesting to use him on the left side; this way he can cut in on his stronger right and his shots would bend towards goal rather than away from it.

Interesting idea but I’m prepared to be very underwhelmed should we ever play Trent in midfield. I do want to see it though, feels like it’s something we need to try.

Not sure about the last bit. If we need to choose between his crossing and his shots on goal I think I'd prioritise the former.

Not sure I like that idea. Firstly, it means we're sacrificing Trent's supply line for his potential goal threat. I'd be willing to bet the odd screamer would not be sufficient compensation for the lost assists. Secondly, Trent is not a dribbler. In fact, he's fairly predictable in possession. There'd be very little danger of Trent beating defenders on the wing, so they'll know his only threat is the prospect of him coming inside. If defenders can nullify Salah in this respect, they'll have no problems shackling Trent.

To my mind, there's two possible roles Trent could play in midfield. One is the right side of a 4-4-2 and the other is more of a free role ahead of two sitters (a little like Stevie). I always thought the latter was the role he'd end up in when he first burst onto the scene, but I have serious doubts about whether he has enough to his game to do that effectively.

When you look at him now - his face is not one of tiredness, its one where he looks like he hates his fucking role and position. If what you say is actually where he was expected to play as he came up through the youth ranks - then I totally understand, and all this talk of Jude coming in to save us must not help his mental well being - I mean he probably thinks that the role was meant for him and him alone.
