UFC

Finally the gobby little twat has been found out, by someone with a 1wk camp, and who isn't a top 10 fighter in his own division. It was a beautiful thing watching him lose. The UFC now has ZERO poster boys left now lol Cain - Always injured, Jon Jones - Coke addict and hit and run vs pregnant women, Anderson Silva - Steroid user and now on a losing streak, GSP - Retired, Ronda - Destroyed and no balls to come back, Conor - Found out.

On a side note, I think this result is really positive for Conor, he's a very good fighter (but not great), and hopefully this will make him go away, become more humble and realise he's not invincible or the best fighter in the world, work harder, and come back even better like a true champ. But it will also now show all of his opponents a route to success against him, he's absolutely no ground game, and he's doesn't hit hard above 145 by the looks of it. He needs to go back down to 145 now, but the cut is horrible for him, but if he stays at 155 or even 170 I can see on the end of some beatings. Thank god for his sake he didn't end up against Lawler last night else there would have been murders.

Great finish from Tate to save that fight.

Diaz was getting beat down before tagging Conor. Poor decision for McGregor to go for the takedown - he should know better but I think he bought his own hype. Hopefully he'll fight Edgar next.

He went for the takedown as he was fucked and started to panic, Diaz had started to catch him and he was backing up, surprising as Diaz could only see out of one eye by the looks of it.
I think they have to give an immediate rematch to Aldo over Edgar really, seeing as he was undefeated for 10years and Conor got him with a lucky (but good) punch. Sets up a good fight for 200, and Aldo will want to murder him.

I think that's because he doesn't analyse things like a professional fighter ought to. In a bar fight, whether the guy is twice your size or half your size, you're both pretty clueless and its a coin flip as to who wins. I think McGregor went in there thinking it was a coin flip. But that isn't how it works between professional fighters. If you give up an edge in size, reach, and power to an opponent, then the odds are not going to be a coin flip because your opponent will definitely use that edge to his own advantage. That's their job.

I don't think that's right at all. McGregor was believing he was invincible and no one could handle his power. He was convinced he would win without difficulty. Thought he could risk the takedown to score with the judges because he could not be submitted or even put into a position of serious danger.

Mcgregor was doing damage with his left in the first round and seemed assured and confident. Did he let his Mystic mac predictions get in his way? He kept going for a right uppercut which is how he said he'd finish the fight?? Diaz tagged him and Mcgregor was reeling from then on in. He couldn't hack it on his feet so went to ground to avoid the punches and the game was up.

I presume he'll go back down in the weights and defend his belt. Will Aldo get a rematch.

I think Mcgregor has opened up the sport for a lot of new people. I'm a new fan who'll continue to watch it with or without Mcgregor.

He said he'll leave it up to the fans to determine whether he fights Aldo or Edgar next. Whichever fight will sell. Then he'll try to work his way back to a title shot at 155 as well.

I was kinda hoping he'd win just to see how ridiculous and far the hype train could go. He'd earned it up to that point but how far could he take it?

On a side note, your boys Chemical brothers are playing Electric Picnic festival in Ireland in sept man. LCD soundsystem playing as well.

He talks a good job, but I think it'll be Dana and the paycheque who decide he fights next, and I'd have thought there will be significantly more money in the Aldo fight, probably at UFC200 now aswell. Mayweather used to pull this 'I'll let the fans pick' bullshit, and then go the opposite way.
I think he's probably better suited at 155 as that cut is horrible for him to 145, and he's only doing it so he can have a significant size advantage on fight night vs dwarves. He's could have a reasonable cut to 155 instead, but in there are RDA/Cerrone/Pettis that I think all would be very difficult for him, he'd probably blast the rest out of the way.

Pretty much every fighter comes into a fight after a cut, so they can get the fluid back on (including IV) so that they can try and get a significant size advantage come fight night. If you look at the division where conor has a belt, he is significantly larger than pretty much every opponent in there, so really he has an unfair advantage in that division, but what he's doing isn't uncommon. For his fight against Diaz (looking at the pre and post weigh in images) I'd say Conor was still at his 168 that he came in at, and maybe Diaz was 175'ish. The problem for Conor wasn't the 5lbs extra weight that Nate had, it was that his shots do no damage at that weight, and that he has absolutely no ground game. He was also gassing in the 2nd round, and considering he's pretty lean at 168, that's not a good sign for him at all.

Jon Jones the cnut back in the nick. Driving like a cock this time, but, based on he got off with breaking that pregnant womans' arm, I fully expect him to walk for this one too.

So the UFC descends into farce today. Jon Jones is still in jail. And now they announce that McGregor has a rematch against Diaz at 200, and Aldo and Edgar are forced to have a contenders match whilst they wait for this little dickhead to mess around at other weights and not defend his belt, they should strip him.
So UFC 200, it's big poster event, currently has zero belts on the line, and could be the end of their cash cow McGregor if/when he loses again to an average 170'r. I presume they're also going to have wheel Lawler onto this card aswell, just to get a belt on the line, possibly vs Condit again if he doesn't jack it in.

What happens to McGregor if he loses again ?

Should be banned from the sport for being a fool of a took. It's in UFCs best interest that he wins it , so my money is on them slipping Diaz a wad to take a dive / bout of unconciousness / whatever these lot take

Yep, and it's also pointless the other way round - if he wins, then it's 1-1 and they'll clamour for an immediate 3rd fight. He should be stripped. If you go up a weight then you vacate your belt.

They're going to have to put 1-2 more bets on that card to sort this shit out. I'd suspect the ladies belt will go on the card, and maybe Lawlers. In an ideal world they'd pull in GSP or my boy Fedor, but both are a massive long shot. Nate seems to think he's been told that the plan was that Conor beat him, then called out GSP who was in the crowd, and GSP agreed to fight him at 200. That obviously backfired.
I prefer the 198 card.

Only just got round to watching Diaz McGregor. Great fight despite the result. McGregor had balls trying to take Diaz on the ground like that, despite it being a completely retarded decision!

It was desperation mate, he was fucked. He knows he shouldn't do it, the one place he doesn't want to go as he has no ground game and Diaz is a true world class JJ black belt. In the rematch he wont even entertain going there, it's just because he was getting tagged and exhausted.

On a side note, the circus continues, Cormier is now out so Jones faces OSP who is a 2nd rate fighter at best. Presume he'll get destroyed in the 1st round.

Aldo is now moaning (has a point) about having to fight Frankie for the interim belt after being the champ for 11years.......

What a load of balls that card was last night. Gonzaga the ape just got blasted cos he's rubbish and needs to retire now (living off the crocop win), and as for Rothwell, fuck me what a poor performance, he looked so bad and slow, useless.

Dana told him he'd got to go to vegas, stockton, NY - on a little tour to promote UFC 200. Conor threw a hissy fit and said he wouldn't go (he's currently in Iceland), so Dana has pulled him off the card. And in a stroppy response he's put those tweets up pretending he's retiring because of it. If he's getting 5-10mill per fight, I can't see the gobby little dwarf going anywhere. I'm a bit gutted if he isn't on 200, because I think Nate woulda ruined him even worse this time round and it'd have been comedy gold.

No, not for Conor mate. The only time he talked (probably bollocks) about retiring was after Dana pulled him off the card for not fulfilling his press obligations.
