UFC

I would suspect he will be, he's the king of talking bollocks whether it's on twitter or in pre fight pressers. I don't have any belief that he'll follow through (although I'd quite enjoy it if he did). He might even be back for the ufc 200 card. Dana has told him that he needs to confirm he is retired asap so he can engage his non-compete clause on his contract and strip his title from him and let Aldo and Edgar fight for it at 200. He's getting between 5-10mill per fight currently I believe, and I don't think he has any intention of giving that up.
It's a weird one to throw his toys out of the pram over though, maybe he didn't like the timing or had forgotten about his commitments to this press work. I'm guessing he was hoping he could use his status to go full prima donna and get out of it, but Dana has cut off his nose to spite his face (and done the wrong thing) and now cost Conor 10mill. I think now Conor is banking that they need him more he needs them, which is true. But will they concede.

He's playing a weird game to try to show he's bigger than the UFC.

And he's overshadowed Jon Jones' return. Which is on a strong card - best nickname I've ever seen is fighting on it:

McGregor is probably pissed off Prince took some coverage away from him too

Thought Jones was poor the weekend, should've had OSP out of there in the first couple of rounds, but saying that, OSP has never been ko'd in the UFC so maybe he should've taken him to the ground.
If the UFC allow Conor to get his fight back, then they'll open the floodgates for all the other fighters to bail on the press obligations. I personally don't have any issue with them only doing one pre fight presser, but I can see how the UFC have to keep the money rolling in from all the promotion junk. So if you want the big bucks from the UFC, then you've gotta do it. I'd let Conor get the fight back, but give him peanuts.

The pantomime continues.
Dickhead Conor tweets that he's back on the UFC 200 card.
Dana gets interviewed and says he doesn't know what Conor is going on about and none of them have spoken to Conor or his manager since last week, and that he's defo off the card and will be rebooked for UFC 201-203.
It looks like the UFC will use Jones vs Cormier as the main event on the card now and don't need Conor v Diaz for it.

Jones v Cormier official headliner for 200. Oh dear Conor, lost yourself a few quid there.

The rumour doing the rounds (which has been confirmed by snr) is that amyweather jnr is lining up a fight with Conor. wtf. Not sure how that would work, and Dana has come out saying it's a load of bollocks, but even if that was a scrap of truth in it, is Conor trying to find the best way guaranteed to lose his fights? Fight RDA? Fighting Nate again at 170? Trying to outbox mayweather?!

Bahhh, Brock vs Hunt. I was really hoping it was Fedor. There will be a big buzz about it, but I presume Brock charges him, dumps him on his arse and then deploys the hammerfists. Hunt has an absolute granite head though.

UFC allegedly sold. 4+bill for a company the crooked Fertita's paid about 20mill for. Think Dana has a 10% share of something so there's a nice 400mill for him.

Wow. Insane money. I really think they're missing a trick not having a few matches a year on mainstream tv though, there's loads of people who just aren't aware of it, but whenever I introduce people to it they usually go on to watch it regularly.

They attempted it with putting a show once a month on Fox in the states, and told the UFC as part of the deal they couldn't just palm their reserve fighters onto it. But I agree, they could do with something on terrestrial over here, not sure who'd take it though, ITV maybe?

So it's the big one the weekend (not including RDA fighting before then).

My predictions for the main card would be:

Daniel Cormier vs Jon Jones - Jones bores out a UD including plenty of eye pokes and oblique kick to the knees
Mark Hunt vs Brock Lesnar - Mark Hunt KO 2nd round
Miesha Tate vs Amanda Nunes - Tate via UD
Jose Aldo vs Frankie Edgar - Aldo via UD
Travis Browne vs Cain Velasquez - Cain wins via murder round 3

Well, surprise surprise. Jon Jones busted for drugs again. Hopefully they throw the book at him this time. Feel sorry for Cormier tho, being of pocket several million because of this.

And now the main event at UFC200 involves a WWE wrestler.

McGregor must be pissing himself laughing

It's mental. But, Brock is a huge draw, even as a freakshow. There's still quite a few good fights on that card, even if the meaningless rematch with Nate isn't on it.
Rumours doing the rounds that Cormier will take a HW fight to stay on the card. Not surprised as Jones has done them both out of millions.

So Cormier gets another drugs cheat as a last minute replacement for the other drugs cheat that has ruined Saturday for him. I hope he mauls Silva.

He just sat on Silva for about 14 minutes of the fight.

Overall a pretty boring card, between Lesnar and Cormier going for (fairly dull) ground and pound. Aldo fight was decent, Velasquez ruined the guy he was facing easily.

Tate/Nunes about to come on, hopefully it's not terrible.

Yep a bit of anti-climax of a card really. Loads of points wins, Cormier doing a GSP, and Cain getting an early stoppage. It did make me laugh though, Cormier got loads of shit for lying on Silva and dumping him on his arse, but as soon as Brock does the the same the crowd go mad lol

Fingers crossed that McTapper gets fucked up again tonight. Looking forward to the Rumble fight too.

IF he did somehow fluke a win, it'd be ridiculous if they had a 3rd any time soon. It makes absolutely no sense to McTapper to do that as it means he'd have wasted 12-18months of his career fighting a guy 3 times that is never going to challenge for the belt in his own division. For a midget that is meant to be after belts and records.

Artem's fighting at 2am, think there might be a few on before that, but not sure. McGregor Diaz is scheduled for 5am.

Does anyone know if it's on free on the basic BT sport channel, or is there a ppv type thing?

Decent night so far. Means just schooled Homasi there.

Glover vs Johnson will be a great fight, pair of horses.
