UFC

Sorry man! Was using my phone to screen mirror onto my tv, fuck!

Hope you got one.

Thought Diaz was the obvious aggressor in that, but McGregor had him on his arse at least twice (might be more, I'm pissed).

I know it's not me doing this and I'm celebrating someone else's achievements, but to see a lad that was on the dole a few years ago do what he's done is just enthralling.

An inspiration to a nation.

Fucking love Diaz by the way, cool motherfucker.

Called it earlier, UFC and the new owners were never going to be happy with a Diaz win here.

Imagine how much money the 3rd fight will get?

I'm streaming it illegally, because I'm not a fucking idiot, but it will break records.

IF he did somehow fluke a win, it'd be ridiculous if they had a 3rd any time soon. It makes absolutely no sense to McTapper to do that as it means he'd have wasted 12-18months of his career fighting a guy 3 times that is never going to challenge for the belt in his own division. For a midget that is meant to be after belts and records.
Haha do you *ever* get anything right you clueless spastic.

Great show from Rumble again, BANG. Cerrone looked great again at 170 and had an awesome 3 shot finish. As for the main card, I was a little underwhelmed. After about 3/4r's the way into round two they both looked like they couldn't be arsed anymore, weak shots, slaps, weak kicks, just pushing again the fence no real threat for the following 3 rounds. Neither of them looked like they could ko the other one from the start. Nate marks up worse than GSP, but I think if that was a regular fighter in the division there's hardly be a mark on either of them as there were hardly any dangerous shots thrown with the hands.

Was a boss fight that. I was far too drunk & far too high to comment on here at the time I actually watched it live unfortunately.

Finally got around to watching it. McGregor appears to be a much more rounded fighter now as a result of the previous loss.

His clinch and takedown defense was much improved, his striking was as beautiful as ever. Having the extra time to put on the weight clearly helped too - his cardio and power looked better.

I didn't think it was that close of a fight - a straightforward 3-2 win for McGregor.

I don't see that there'd any need for a third fight - Diaz isn't getting any better and I'm not sure what changes he could make to beat McGregor.

I haven't seen it, and I'll admit I know next to nothing about this sport. I've read a few comments and some people were saying the only reason Diaz's face was so cut up because of the scar tissue. Although this doesn't take away from the fact in order to get cut McGregor obviously had to be making contact.

He fought smart in respect of he kicked for the first couple of rounds, which he doesn't usually do. But he was still knackered by round 3.
I agree with your scoring of 3-2, so Nate doesn't have that much to do to beat him in a rematch, apart from dodge/check some of kick and win 1 more round to reverse it 3-2.
Connor needs to stop pissing about though and give up that belt he should have, and fight at his natural weight. One fight I'd love to see him in is one with Khabib at 155. Oh my days I'd enjoy that.

I don't watch enough UFC to know a lot about Khabib but i do think McGregor's future is at 155.

As for being knackered - yeah he was in round 3 and Diaz took advantage. But he fought smarter and recovered - looking much better in the last two rounds.

I liked the end of the fight - they both hate each other but Diaz offered a hand to pick McGregor up after the final bell and McGregor thanked him. Both showing they earned each others respect in the 5 rounds.

Well its not the only reason, but he does have a reputation for cutting easily.

I'd argue the cut Diaz got over his eye in the first fight looked worse than the cuts he got in this one. But he was dropped a few times in this fight by McGregor - who was wary of Diaz's superior ground game and beckoned him to his feet each time rather than going in for the kill.

It was a fascinating fight

Brock Lesnar has been temporarily suspended pending a full hearing after he failed two drug tests surrounding his return to action at UFC 200 in July.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission revealed during a hearing on Tuesday that Lesnar tested positive for clomiphene and hydroxy-clomiphene, which is a metabolite of chomiphene. Clomiphene is an anti-estrogen agent that is typically used after a cycle of steroids to prevent many of the side effects that come along with the performance-enhancing drug.

Lesnar failed two drug tests — one from a pre-fight out of competition sample on June 28 and another from the night of his fight with Mark Hunt on July 9.

Anyone see Paige's kick last night? Proper batman kerpow. If that was Conor doing that, we'd still be watching replays on CNN now as breaking news.

Well it was a bit of a car crash event tbh.

Uriah Faber looking absolutely lost and might even get cut now even though he's been one of the UFC's poster boys for years.
You've got that embarrassment from the wwe coming over and getting his arse handed over to him by a kid with 1 fight under his belt, then turning into a motivational speaker.
Then you Werdum come out and lye on his back in the middle of the ring, expecting his opponent to just climb on top. He's got a history of doing this. You have ronda's boyfriend then invent some new rules where you can get the ref to protect you if you hurt your finger and moan when Werdum hits hit.
Then the very best one, you get the drugs cheat Overeem get absolutely obliterated, and then claim after the fight that he submitted Miocic, only for Joe Rogan to pretty much call him a cunt on live TV by showing the replay twice in slow motion showing that Overeem was talking absolute shit. Best post fight interview ever though.

So McGregor Alvarez will headline 205.

High risk, high reward for both really, and should be a good bout.

The count/cunt fights again this weekend. Hopefully he gets a repeat of last time. Time for the gif

Well there's a game plan for all the kids out there then, to get a belt and defend it, do a mayweather or bisping - do absolutely no damage but throw thousand of little poxy taps or slaps and then round around a lot. Don't do any damage what so ever, and you'll win fights. It was so obvious that he'd win that fight even though he got fucked up and there wasn't a mark on Hendo.

Well, it's the biggest event in their history at the weekend, at probably one of the greatest sporting arenas on the planet.

Conor v Alvarez - Well as usual this is a tough one to call. On paper, Alvarez is better fighter, better pedigree, has fought better fighters and won, better cardio, more rounded. But, he's never faced a fighter with such massive self belief, and pinpoint striking with power. And Conor keeps winning when he on paper shouldn't. It's a coin flip for me between a Conor 1st round KO or an Alvarez decision. I'm going to go for the decision but would not be at all surprised to see the KO.

Woodley v Thomspon - This is straightforward one for me although Woodley is a good fighter, it's Thompson all day long for me. He's so difficult to fight, so awkward, and has so many tools in his arsenal, whereas Woodley is very athletic but doesn't have the greatest striking or submissions. Stoppage or submission for Thompson I'd go for here, he's got a big future infront of him.

Weidman vs Romero - Weidman has a lot of tools to win this win this one. He's a solid reliable fighter, well rounded in all aspects if not gifted in submission wrestling although not a a JJ master. He's got a considerable reach advantage on Romero, a great gas tank, patient striking, and happy if it goes to the ground. Romero ont he other hand has an iffy gas tank and is built like a brick shit house and much shorter, so he tends to be fairly inactive during rounds, using his head to save his gas tank, but, when he does bang he's a savage monster, super powerful and fast. If Romero catches Weidman, there's no way his chin holds up, but a big it. My head tells me Weidman wins an easy decision, but I have a nasty feeling the Romero is going to catch him and royally fuck up Weidman's destiny back to the belt.

Gastelum v Cerrone - Gastelum is the shorter more powerful fighter here, and up until recently I would have said he'd have mullered Cerrone at the weight class, but Cerrone is looking great as of late, smashing everyone infront of him and he's more comfortable now at this weight. Cerrone only usually loses to southpaws, he struggles with them, and Gastelum is a southpaw, but I think Cerrone breaks his duck here, Cerrone by decision.

Edgar v Stephens - These guys are usually too small for ko's, and apart from Aldo, Edgar is the best in this division. I see a lopsided decision for Frankie here. He's too good allround here, although Stephens is as tough as nails I don't think he's got enough moving forward.

Khabib v Johnson - Finally Khabib is back and against decent opposition. Johnson likes to stand and bang, although he's not very good it, but he is very durable, I don't think he's ever been stopped/ko'd only submitted, but I think Khabib the beast wrestlefucks the shit out of him here and sets him up for his first ever stoppage after smashing him.

I think I'm looking forward to the Khabib fight more than McGregor. He's an animal.

Massive pity Rashad got pulled, hopefully they find a replacement, Kennedy deserves it.
