Trent, Salah and VVD

I'd only consider selling if we can activate Frimpong release clause if that's still in play, or any other RB we've identified. Even then I'd accept it's a footballing risk.

From a financial perspective 25m, plus the reduction in wages would likely covering a 2 year contract for Salah or go a long to paying for a RB, so it's not to be dismissed out of hand. However given we haven't spent last summer I'd like to think the financial element didn't matter so much.

I honestly don't think Trent would down tools with winning a PL and CL on the line. We shouldn't dismiss how much that will mean to him, regardless of his desire to move. That's just not a factor, IMHO. It would actually be in his footballing and financial interest to win trophies and sign as a free agent.

How many times has Trent been through this the past few years...
How many times have we looked so dominant whilst our opposition (inc. RM in the CL) has looked so weak? This really is a chance (if we continue to play as we are) to double up PL + CL. Probably our best ever chance TBH.

And how many times have you said that City will falter? 😅

Winning the Champions League versus going out in the next round is about £25m (Gross opposed to net, and finger in the air figure).

Double it... then maybe we talk.

Why does everyone think that Frimpong is going to be an adequate RB replacement for Trent ? The guy is not even big enough to play that role in the PL.

Because he’s a brilliant little player who would fit in seamlessly.

Carries the ball far better than Trent, can dribble out of tight spaces far better than Trent and his attitude/energy levels are also far better than Trent’s. He’s also able to return a decent goal involvement rate despite not having Trent’s ability on the ball.

If you’re having to find weaknesses such as “not being big enough” then that’s just fault finding, something that every player has.

Don’t blame Mo, he isn’t the 1 to blame for this - he’s stated his desire to finish his career here countless times. There’s only 2 people to blame for this, same 2 that appear to get away scot free everytime.

It depends what he's asking for. If we're penny pinching to the max, that's on us. If he's asking for stupid money that he knows we'll struggle to accept than he is playing us all for fools.

The fact that it's not just him but VVD and TAA as well however, means that FSG and co share in the blame regardless.

Anyways, it's all pointless speculation. My one big hope is that we win it all this year and then I'll care less about the aftermath.

After our last game he said it. I’ll find the quote.

"No we are far away from that [contract] and I don't want to put anything in the media," Salah told Sky Sports. "The only thing on my mind is I want Liverpool to win the league and I want to be part of that.

I reckon this whole contract thingy was one of the reasons why Klopp couldn't be arsed anymore.

I mean, as fans, we already find it tiresome, imagine when you have to deal with this week in week out.

Still think FSG is largely to blame, for a lot of things. Or maybe we really are skint.

If Salah wasn't around this season, we wont be top of the table for sure.

I think we’ve given him a final offer, say £400k at 3 years. Him and his agent want more and we are standing firm. No other club he would sign for have come forward with anything to convince him to join them.
