Trent, Salah and VVD

They're trying to get Porro now, because Trent is unavailable until the summer.

Probably been put off what they’ve seen the last 18 months, who can blame then.

So much for the best team in the world wanting the best RB that’s ever kicked a ball.

Wonder what he’ll decide to do if they do end up signing Porro.

I can absolutely see why Trent would want to leave, but from the little ive seen of Madrid this year, he's exactly the sort of player they don't need. Unless he was content just being a more ordinary player and just sort of special in little bits.

And I've no issue with him wanting to leave if he does, but I'd be annoyed if he went there and was all humble in terms of how he played.

Salah saying that he hasnt revieved a new contract offer yet and is probably more «out» than in for the future, is not a good look for Hughes and co.

Its probably to put pressure on the club, but still, not a good look at all.

Mohamed Salah says he has yet to receive a formal contract offer from Liverpool as he admits “I’m probably more out than in (next summer).”

The forward’s current deal expires at the end of the season and his future is increasingly uncertain.

Salah, who has scored 223 goals in 367 games for Liverpool since arriving from Roma in 2017, could sign a pre-contract agreement with a club overseas from January 1.

“We are almost in December and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay in the club. I’m probably more out than in,” he told reporters following his match-winning double in Sunday’s 3-2 victory at Southampton.

“You know I have been in the club for many years. There is no club like this. But in the end it is not in my hands. As I said before, it is December and I haven’t received anything yet about my future.

“I love the fans. The fans love me. In the end it is not in my hands or the fans’ hands. Let’s wait and see.”

Asked if he was disappointed that he hadn’t received an offer at this stage, he added: “Of course, yeah. I’m not going to retire soon so I’m just playing, focusing on the season and I’m trying to win the Premier League and hopefully the Champions League as well. I’m disappointed but we will see.”

Hughes, Edwards and FSG are all cunts, we know this to be true whether people want to admit it or not. Of course he hasn't received a new offer, otherwise he'd be signed up. Don't be surprised when cunty people do cunty things. 15 years of constraint and being held back. Time to fuck off back to your MLB you yanky fucks.

Who exactly has their finger up their ass?

The contract negotiations, or the lack thereof, have been a complete shambles.

What are those guys even busy with you wonder.

Mo is playing the game here, pushing on the back of good performances and i would guess being economical with the truth.

the position is probably something like “we want 350 a week for 3 years or we aren’t signing, don’t bother making an offer that doesn’t include that basic rate for that time”

Salah said similar last time around too, it's the way him and his agent play it, its fine. I am quite uncomfortable with how the club seem to be handling this all though, I worry that they are trying to be overly smart here. They need to stop trying to min max the age value equation, and get both Salah and VVD on a 2 plus 1 deal based on performance metrics, that should make everyone happy.

It's probably what's on the table.

My read is that the club will be talking to Ramy, but they haven’t [resented him with anything he’s prepared to discuss with Mo yet.
But they need to pull their fingers out. Because if you were to replace Mo with, say, Kudus or Kulusevski, we’d be a fair bit worse off in terms of points. They’re good players, match-winners on their day, but they don’t do it as often as Mo does. As much as some of us here bitch about his overall contribution, he does the business in the decisive moments and wins games. That is priceless.
Pay the man.

Might be true that he has asked for XX and we couldn't match it or undecided so are dragging our feet (and no contract offered).

But we are in the best position to win the league in years (this time we can celebrate properly) so I will hate for this to contribute to any distraction to the ultimate goal.

I saw someone talk about the fact it might be that the club want to get Trent and Virgil tied down before Salah and they want Salah first so they can use it as a yardstick.

It's probably what's on the table.
If it is, and assuming we aren't low balling them on wages, then this is just haggling over the wage and should be done soon. I have imagine we've offered two years only, on more or slightly less money, and that's where the issue lies. Of course I base that on nothing at all.

I hope Mo and Virg are asking for 10k more with every passing week, well within their right to, purely for us acting like a bunch of inept clowns. Wouldn't begrudge any of them if they left, even if they went to Saudi for a pay packet. Fuck it, I wouldn't even begrudge them if they went to Utd or City.

Am I the only one that thinks that Mo is being a bit of a cunt here and I say that as someone who really hopes he stays.
His comments are clearly made with the intension of putting pressure on the club
It is ludicrous to try and have us believe that there aren't contract extension talk.
All he had to say was that he wants to stay and hopes an agreement can be reached but it is out of his hands.
I hope his performance doesn't drop off once/if he signs an extension as his goals and assists are vital to a title challenge

It’s like people don’t read the article and just make up their mind from the headline.

I knew as soon as I read the article that Binomial would be posting about them all being cunts or something - and he didn’t disappoint.

To be fair, that’s not the full article, title it certainly isn’t the one in The Guardian which is almost word for word.

What I take from the full article is this bit -

“Liverpool are understood to be relaxed about the situation, feeling they have held positive talks with Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, and recognise that any extension for their highest-paid player was never likely to be a swift resolution given he is paid a basic £350,000 a week.”

So… what to make of it, well… I think we’ve been here before, Mo talked about potentially playing for City during the previous negotiations and the fact that his agent isn’t opening his gob publicly might mean a decision isn’t that far.

Mo might be applying a bit of pressure - but as a negotiation position, he may have just let weekend his position a little bit - because if we do offer him a new contract and he rejects it he’s going to make himself look really cuntish to fans.

I don’t think there’s as many options on the table from top teams that can offer what we can in terms of challenging for top honours as people think.

Also, if memory serves, he can only sign a pre-contract with teams outside of England… so that’s probably why we’re taking our time as well.

As I suggested previously, it’s probably to do with contract length - we tend to like 1 year extensions at this point in a players life.

I don’t think this is as negative as grumpy-chops is making it out to be.

I understand how good he has been in big moments this season, but he's going to be 33 at the start of next season, and every game he becomes more of an impact player.

I hope the club offers him a 1 year contract extension with the option of 2 (on the club's side). Same offer to Virgil.
