Ballbag said close to 70 mill €. Thats about 60 mill £.
And to get him to sign you've probably offered him 250k a week.
Thats 50 £ mill in wages aswell.

Very good player but fucking expencive. Utd needed a signing like that mind. If it goes through.

€70m is £55m so if it close to €70m should be a bit less than that.

And I've said before if the manager identifies a player and says that is what we need the price doesn't really matter to me.
And we seem to be flush with cash these days so better spend it than let it into the Glazers pockets.

This is (sorry for quiffing myself) 😉

17 - Angel Di Maria assisted 17 goals in La Liga last season, four more than any other player
It is good indeed. I think Di Maria is much more of a £30million player than an approaching £60million though. United have to pay for the players though, it's bad news for us, hopefully he won't adapt to English football.

55 or 60. Its still 20 mill to much.
But as I said to a Utd supporting mate just now. I guess that the position Utd are in now, having to overpay on fees and wages to attract player. Not getting top 4 this season could be the start of something bad with all these high wages.

Fingers crossed you come 5th..

But, ouch:

@DTguardian: Di Maria fee might be higher than thought. Nothing official but heard tonight 75m Euros (£59.9m) with potential 10m Euros add-ons #mufc

60 million quid for a winger Madrid don't want. Apart from last season where he had a good season for Madrid, he's been gash. Out of Ronaldo, bale, Rodriquez, modric, isco, I know who I'd rather the scum signed. Another panic buy.

I watched a game in the WC where Di Maria played and he was fucking woeful. More learned souls on here will probably tell me otherwise but £60mill for him??? Ha ha! At least he's someone I have heard of so that is something I suppose. Seems awfully pricey though. I wonder what @ChastenedMUFC thinks of this?

He's looked very good when I've seen him. At times he was real madrid's best performer. I always wondered if he got more time and space because of the attention his more famous team mates got. I guess we'll find out now.

Honestly, £60m, it's just pure desperation.

They could've had Pogba for that, a player they desperately need, and probably the best midfielder in the world over the next decade.

Financially we can easily afford a few more players on these kind of deals.

For last season we are forecasting turnovet of between £420m and £430m. That is with CL so about £40m is going to be knocked off this and probably next year. But that is before the new Chevrolet Deal kicks in which is£27m increase on the previous deal. So we are only down about £10m per season.

The new Adidas deal kicks at £75m until we miss CL for two consequtive seasons after that it is £52m. Even with no CL we are £25m pa up on the Nike deal.

With no CL our turnover year next will be about £450m

The closest PL club to us in terms of turover is Arsenal at about £300m, City and Chelsea and yourselves with CL this season will be about £250m.
So even without CL we are earning about 50% more than our next nearest rival.

We currently have the lowest turnover/wage bill in the league so reckon we could easily afford another 5 or 6 200k per week players without CL football and still not get to the average turnover/wage bill. Especially with Rio, Vidic, Evra and Giggs gone who were all on around £100k

The fuck is going on at Man U? Does Van Gaal have a left back fetish?

Rojo, now Daley Blind. Sure Rojo can play in central defence and Blind can play in midfield as well but I believe both are more comfortable at left back.
What about Shaw?

Both are more comfortable in the other positions but can cover LB

You sound more like a fund manager than a football fan you weaselly twat.

Liverpool are rumoured to be in for Julian Brandt, a young winger at Leverkusen. What's your opinion on that? If you're wondering how that's relevant to this conversation then fuck off to Red Cafe.

Your defenders are fucking gash. Keep spending on attackers please.

9, 7, 9, 11 for the past 4 seasons. Pretty damn decent for a winger. I think his assists are at the same level or thereabouts.
He averages a goal every 6 matches in one of the most attacking sides there is.

It's not the greatest record like. Bale is averaging 1 in 2 at the minute.

I'm a bit surprised that their big CB signing is Rojo, not that I think he's poor but I expected them to go for someone better.

I don't think we need to worry about who they sign. At the moment they seem to be just tinkering with one side or the other when really their problems are much bigger. The reason they are not winning is because that they don't have Alex in charge who had a winning formula for winning the league and instilling it in average or just above average players. I look at them and unless a team goes out spends like the way City and Chelsea have done there is no way they can just walk into 4th place. We have something now at LFC, where good players who are able to follow our new way of playing have clear cut instructions to do a good job. I think they are a confused bunch these days.
