Reports in the German press have suggested that Dortmund may consider selling Reus for about £50m in the coming weeks - with the club worried about his £27m release clause becoming active next summer.

The whole thing with players getting written off when turning 30 has always been over played and annoying, the Suarez conversations about his age used to do my nut in, he's 27 = that means he's nearly 30! oh no the dreaded 30!, he'll soon be half the player! he'll lose this, he'll lose that etc etc etc... lol, load of bollocks mate.

Sorry Spags but 27 is not 31. Look again at the point I made earlier ... which other top team in Europe has a 31 yo as their lead striker ?

Zlatan, not that it means anything.

What you are saying is despite van Persie showing no genuine signs of decline he is suddenly going to drop off his usual scoring rate and performance levels next season all because a digit changes on his age in a few weeks? that is basically what you are saying, it's ludicrous.

You're not paying attention. His first year at United was worse (goals per game) than his last at Arsenal and last season was his worst in 5 years. Do you think logically this trend is going to reverse itself now he's a year older or is the trend going to continue on it's downward curve ?

You're just not looking at the big horse in the mirror, Frogfish.

Actually I'm not correct, memory failing me, last year was very similar to the year before but that % was obtained over his fewest games per season in 5 years (28) due to injuries. IMHO both games played and goals per game will be down again this season.

2010 52.63% (19 games - 10 goals)
2011 66.67% (33 - 22)
2012 77.08% (48 - 37)
2013 62.50% (48 - 30)
2014 64.29% (28 - 18)

Chris is well out of the loop. I'm putting in my reserve on the first Balotelli shirt tomorrow. (Though there is a possibility it could be misspelt as Bony).

He's still in the loop, people mistake his detachment these days with the Echo as having no contacts, he has.

Should we be all over the AS Roma player that Dortmund are thinking of signing? They seem to have a somewhat decent record at this sort of thing.

FC Bayern are interested in Pepe Reina. AC Milan and Napoli are also interested. #lfc [@DiMarzio]

Looks like you are tying yourself up in knots here, i have no idea why you are using goal scoring stats as they don't back up your opinion at all, they back up what i have been saying all along so dunno what you are up to there? maybe you need to start paying attention.

I said earlier if your opinion that 'he will be way off' being top scorer is based on him picking up injuries then that is fair enough, no arguments from me there but you have made it clear your opinion isn't based on him getting injuries, its based on him turning 31 soon and strangely other top European teams not having a 31 year old main striker, even though PSG do.

You're starting wriggle around a bit, hes going to play less than 21 PL games next season now?

Out of interest here are his stats for PL goals for the last 5 seasons...

2010, 16 games, 9 goals.
2011, 25 - 19
2012, 38 - 30
2013, 38 - 26
2014, 21 - 12

Liverpool have made their seventh signing of an extravagant summer after completing a deal for rising Spanish star Javier Manquillo.

And an eighth capture will swiftly follow as the Reds inch closer to thrashing out an agreement over their chief defensive target of the summer, Sevilla’s exciting left-back Alberto Moreno.

Boss Brendan Rodgers confirmed on Saturday he has put in place a two-year loan deal for Manquillo, who has represented Spain youth sides at every level up to Under-20.

But the agreement also offers the option of making the move permanent next summer, for a fee of around £5million and add-ons that have yet to be finalised.

Manquillo is regarded as a potential successor in the national side to Juanfran, who is his senior team-mate and keeps him out of the team at Atletico Madrid.

We need to get the 9th signing in sharpish, a goal scorer. I wonder if he'll want to go into next season with 3 or 4, if it's 4 he's going to have to get a jog on.
Would be nice to see reina/agger/assadi/borini get sorted out soon too.

If you call producing the facts and then correcting myself for an error I made (it's called being honest) 'wriggling' then I'd hate to see what you call posters that simply adulterate their opinions ? For your benefit since it seems it needs clarification - my opinion hasn't waivered one iota !

BTW your set of goal-scoring stats (I'd given complete season) in fact just goes to endorse my comments on an RvP in decline, (PL goals to games %) : 56%, 76%, 79%, 68%, 57%, the first 3 at Arsenal and final 2 at United. Ergo in decline.

However let's condense this into a simple Yes/No forecast. Do you think RvP (who is 31 this month and will be closing in on 32 when the season ends) will equal or surpass his 2013/14 Goals per Game stat (regardless of matches played) in the PL next season ? For me it is No. For you it seems to be Yes (though if in fact it is No then you have proved my point).

So what is it to be ? Yes or No ?

€75m? How are these guys not falling foul of FFP?

Bit of a joke, really.

They have fallen foul. But the sanctions they get hit with are farcical so it's business as usual.
They got a 60mill fine (for a team that's owned by billionaires) which they can get 40mill back, and a champions league squad reduced from 25->21. Even though they only named/used 22 players in it last year. Piss take.

Really? you know i think he will get his 1 in 2 or better, i have said that all along, why do you need to ask that? gotta laugh that you say im the one who needs this clarified and to pay attention! that is funny.

By the way for you its not just a simple no, you said he will be way off and will have a big drop off with his usual performance levels and goals to games strike rate next season, that is an example of your wriggling, same with completely ignoring the Zlatan/PSG answer, you haven't even acknowledged it since i answered it even though you were very persistent in asking me that question, that theory means nothing anyway.
