Transfer Rumours

Cole is still a very good player imho. Hasnt lost much pace and has got so much experience. Chelsea hardly conceded a goal when he started this season.

Each to their own, but I disagree.

IMO the bigger problem is whether a mostly new defence would be able to gel in time to keep us in a title race. I think building a good enough squad is definitely doable with that sort of money.

i honestly reckon there's more of a chance we'll fall out of the top 4 again than do another title challenge.

Well tbh I'm not convinced we'll definitely challenge for the title, either.

More games is an issue, although surely more than made up for by 5 or 6 extra players.

Lots of new players so might not come together that quickly.

Can Suarez be this good again?

Plus just the possibility of an emotional hangover from this effort.

But to me this just feels more like the start of something than the climax. In 2009 you felt that everything ha been building to that for the last 4 or 5 years, and that was as much as that team was going to be capable of. This isn't like that. There's so much easy scope for improvement it's untrue.

I don't think we should sell anyone.

We need to add a few quality players to what we have - rather than replace.

It's about squad size and quality.

Reina, Assaidi, Aspas, Agger. Cissokho and Moses to end their loans.

Keep Agger ... I think if we have Skittels, Agger, Sakho & Toure - we'll be ok. If we get a 10+ million offer for Agger, I'd sell but he showed today he still has more to give ...

Our defence is shit. There should be no one who is safe. Skrtel's scoring record has been impressive. However, we don't have any who would get in our rivals' first teams.

Yeah, comes in after a good while out of the team to play the last home game of the season... doesn't strike me as being a simple case of rotation.

I wonder where he'll go. Barca are still in need but he's perhaps no longer the glamour CB signing they'll be wanting.

Think you have to look at the full back positions before the central defenders, Flanno has done admirably but apart from that we have been way below par in those positions this season.

I think Cole was (or still is, depending who you listen to) a fantastic player but I just don't want him here.

Perhaps there is an element of cutting your nose off to spite your face there but I don't care. There are enough players out there without having to go sign the Coles of this world.

I think it was an Echo journalist who said a few weeks ago that the links to Cole were completely fabricated, no substance at all.

FWIW

Btw, if you ever want to check before posting that Monero is the Sevilla left back you were thinking about, don't search his name on Twitter for confirmation, sheesh.

You'd have thought they won't be the the only ones that'd be interested in shaw. Top player, and good for quota's. Be nice if he tells them to get to fuck and goes to one of their rivals if he has to leave

If Man Utd is getting Shaw, we should be in for this guy. He seems highly rated?

He is highly rated and looks a good talent, but with lallana at 20m and shaw 27m that's our budget practically gone when we still have a few other positions that need addressing.

No, it isn't. We'd have £12-13 mill.left plus the proceeds of any sales we make. Besides, if we do bid for Shaw we might offer Enrique in part-ex.
