[article]Genk suffered defeat against Liverpool twice in the Champions League this season and Sander Berge played the full 90 minutes in those two matches.

Following the Jupiler Pro League side’s 2-1 defeat at Anfield in November, VG in Norway reported Jürgen Klopp told the midfielder he’s a ‘very interesting player’.

A week later, Genk sporting director Dimitri De Condé claimed the Reds are following the Norway international ‘carefully’.

Napoli host the Belgian side in the final group stage tie and RTBF journalist Pascal Scimè told Kiss Kiss Napoli about the Merseyside club’s interest in the Genk star.

“Liverpool want him. In January he can go. First offer of €15m was refused. Napoli? He is a player who would fit more in the Premier League than in Serie A,” Scimè was quoted as saying by CalcioNapoli24.

Scimè’s comments don’t make it clear whether the €15m offer was made by Liverpool or Napoli.

Meanwhile, De Condé admitted Genk won’t block Berge from leaving the club in January, if he insists on a move.

“Berge? We are all aware of the fact that he is the most important player in Genk, but he is generally the most important talent in Belgian football,” De Condé told Si Gonfia la Rete, as relayed by CalcioNapoli24.

“We will not do anything to clip his wings and if he wants to go, it is right to satisfy his ambitions. Many clubs, including Napoli, are interested in him. We’ll see how the market evolves.

“Berge is a defensive midfielder who occupies, for instance, the position of Jorginho in the field, but he has different characteristics from Jorginho. He is better at sitting in front of the defence.”

De Condé’s comments should come as encouragement for Liverpool, if they are keen on acquiring Berge’s services next month. [/article]

And before people laugh off the radio station "Kiss Kiss Napoli" I can confirm that I often scroll by "Kiss Kiss" when I look for sensible station when in Italy. No way I would suspect that was the station to tune into for the latest Liverpool news.

Linked with Evanilson and Gabigol again today...
We're linked with Gabigol because he said that he wanted to play for us.
I don't know if we're gonna sign another Brazilian without a work permit. Didn't go well for Allan.

If he's on a free and supposed to be decent, may as well - send him on loan to Holland / somewhere for a few years.

[article]A first-half double from young striker Evanilson gave Fluminense a 2-1 victory over Corinthians on the final day of the season in Brazil on Sunday.

The 20-year-old, who was playing just his third senior game for the Rio de Janeiro club, scored in the eighth and 28th minutes and although Gustavo pulled one back 18 minutes into the second half it was not enough to stop the visitors taking all three points.

The result confirmed Corinthians place in next year’s Copa Libertadores qualifying stages and guaranteed Fluminense, who finished in 14th place in the 20-team table, a spot in the Copa Sudamericana, South America’s equivalent of the Europa League.[/article]

Liverpool among six teams 'sounding out Neymar' ahead of January transfer window
Neymar is still eyeing a Paris Saint-Germain exit - and Liverpool are said to be amongst six teams sounding him out over a potential transfer with Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester City also keeping tabs.

Someones trying to bump up his price for Barca.
Not even Klopp could stop this tart from diving and rolling.

I guess this officially means we're one of the best teams in the world b/c we're being linked to him ...
No thanks - let Barca sign this prick.

You know we`re doing something right when all the "top" players are being linked(ie we are being used to boost their value/wages) with us.

Meanwhile hopefully our back room boys are pinpointing the upcoming bargains who don`t have a hissy fit when someone tackles them.

This is what I'm talking about. He's like an improved version of Coutinho: same tricks and goals, but with more toughness and discipline.

3 goals and 5 assists in 23 appearances this season, in the French league. He's loved by Guardiola and Zidane but would he make a difference to our team ? I'd rather Brandt for that position TBH (and it seems to me that transitions from the Bundesliga seem to generally go better) though he is another one that is defensively weak but can play anywhere across midfield. Our priority however should be a wide forward who can play on both sides (preferably named Sancho unless the Scouts have another unpolished gem up their sleeves).

Was again impressed with Takumi Minamino, don't know if he is on Klopps radar, but a Japanese player on Liverpool's books should help sell a few shirts in Japan

Buying a player to sell shirts in Japan should be around the bottom of our list of priorities. However I do agree he again looked good. Has that David Silva vibe around him.

He has 18 months left on his contract. It makes so much sense to go for him. Great player.

[article]A first-half double from young striker Evanilson gave Fluminense a 2-1 victory over Corinthians on the final day of the season in Brazil on Sunday.

[article]Fluminese striker Evanilson has suggested he is happy with the Brazilian club but appears to be keeping an open mind after the young striker was linked with a January switch to Liverpool.

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is understood to be seeking reinforcements up front as the club build up for what they hope will be a push for four trophies in the second half of the season. As a result, over the weekend it was claimed Evanilson was the man Liverpool wanted. The forward could be available for nothing with his contract expiring in February 2020 – making his capture a low-risk gamble for Liverpool to take.

And with Brazilian outlet Netflu claiming Liverpool had watched him in action, a second source in the country, UOL, on Tuesday claimed the Reds have made contact with the player’s representatives over a potential switch to Anfield in the new year.

The 20-year-old striker would link up with compatriots Alisson and Roberto Firmino at Anfield and, being able to play across the frontline, would compete with Firmino, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi for a place in the attack.

Evanilson scored his first two goals as a professional as Fluminese beat Corinthians in the final round of fixtures of the Brazilian league and following the game, the young attacker spoke about his future and the claims Liverpool want to sign him.

“Let’s see. The league is over now. I’ll see with my agent,” he said, in quotes reported by Sport Witness.

“Let’s sit down with Fluminense’s board and sort the best situation for me. We’ve been negotiating for a long time. We are seeing what is best.

“These goals help a lot. I’m waiting to see what will happen. I don’t know. I can’t talk yet. It’s a club that opened its doors to me. I’m very happy and I really want to stay.”

While reports claim that Klopp sees Evanilson as one for the future, it’s claimed he could be thrust into the first-team limelight sooner than expected with young striker Rhian Brewster likely to be shipped out to either Swansea or Aston Villa on loan in January in order to gain more first-team experience.

The Merseysiders are said to have been keeping an eye on Evanilson’s form all season for the Brazil Serie A side and now it seems they could be ready to make their move.

The Reds are currently eight points clear at the top of the Premier League as they target their first top-flight title success in 30 years.[/article]

[article]Liverpool and Man City have submitted bids for Inter Milan wonderkid Sebastiano Esposito, according to a report in Italy.

Calciomercato say that “when it comes to young, exciting prospects in Italy, they don’t come much bigger than the Inter striker” and both English clubs have moved with “great insistence” for him.

That is the verdict from FC Inter News, who suggest that Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund are two other clubs with a big interest in Esposito.

In May Calciomercato correspondent Fabrizio Romano claimed that both Liverpool and City wanted the striker, but that Inter had taken a firm stance over the starlet’s future.

Esposito is a huge fan of Inter and playing for his boyhood club he is not keen on leaving and apparently anything besides a loan would almost be out of the question.

The 17-year-old has made six first-team appearances for Inter this season with the most notable being a 28-minute cameo against Dortmund in the Champions League where he won a penalty.[/article]
