Transfer Rumours 21/22

Bowen won't be cheap. He's 24, English and under contract till 2025. West Ham signed him for 18 million, so I'd imagine they'd easily ask 30-35 million for him.
I think they'd be happy to let him go and raise the money to get Lingard.

They just sold Felipe Anderson willingly at a 30m loss.

To be fair, Bowen is pretty underrated. Just realised he's only 24 too. It's the kind of player Klopp has had a lot of success in polishing into a diamond.

Still, feels like a big letdown.
Don't, please don't...
He's alright, but come on. Bowen? Really?!

He isn't bad at all, but underwhelming. A bit of a Jota signing, so let's hope he can have the same impact if signed.

If we can get a player that good who can stay fit we'll be laughing. The garbage regularly spouted about Ings is just unreal. He's quality and we didn't actually want to sell him.
Yeah I totally meant it in an honest way. I wanted Ings to succeed here but his injuries made it impossible. I think Bowen has the same talent and impression about him

I think part of why we're interested in Bowen is that we're concerned long term about our homegrown quota.

Phillips will possibly leave this summer, and Milner will certainly leave next year. Then there's the Henderson impasse. I doubt Ben Davies will be here for long too.

That really leaves Kelleher, Gomez, Trent and Ox as the only homegrown players who might be here in a couple of years.

Jones and Elliott are still very young. Jones doesn't need to be registered till the 2023-24 season and Elliott doesn't need to be registered till 2025-26.

Having X number of homegrown players is the biggest bullshit going after FFP.

Chelsea have like 2.

Case in point - they only registered 20 players last season as they only registered 3 Homegrown - Abraham, Chillwell and amusingly Andreas Christensen- with Reece James, Mount, Hudson-Odoi, etc all classified as U21. (So was Havertz).

Explains why they have such a hard on for Declan Rice

Isn’t this about the time of the season we get linked to Harvey Barnes?

If we signed Bowen from Hull when he had all that Championship hype surrounding him then I would have been for it. We could have signed that striker who's at Villa from Brentford as well.
Why don't we look to the Championship instead waiting from some go-between team to audition them and raise their value by about double?
Same goes with Tielemans (even though he isn't English) before Leicester signed him. Everyone knew that he was a super talented kid.

Also, we need a striker. We need someone comfortable playing upfront. Not another makeshift striker that is more comfortable playing on the wing.

Looks like "be willing to initially take on a back-up role" would be a factor in our next attacking signing - this was mentioned previously in Werner's and/or Jota's transfers (and was apparently one of the reasons why Daka preferred Leicester)

Which is wrong. Firmino doesn’t deserve his untouchable status (and if we are being harsh / ruthless Mane too based on last season though he has Jota to contend with).

We should be bringing in a striker on the basis that the spot is up for grabs.

Bowen is on a shortlist with several other players. No need to panic just yet.
He’s decent, but we need better. Although Klopp could probably transform him into something great, I would have been more onboard if the fee was lower.

Linked with loan move for Abraham too (£40m obligation to buy). I'll be curious where they get that transfer kitty from (if the moves materialize) 😛

I’m more curios about them spending so much money on average to shite players..
Ah well, thats Arsenal.
