Transfer Rumours 21/22

Fuck if that's true Utds front line is sorted for the next decade. Their wage bill is going to be astronomical pretty soon.

And if my auntie had bollocks she'd be my uncle. A lot of those players went because of their attitude and McManaman was the ringleader of all that. It was because he stopped being committed in the first place, not because of lack of ability, that the board tried to sell him. The fact that he had the unbelievable brass neck to get the hump over that just underlines the fact - and it IS a fact - that the conditions for him to become a legend would never, ever have come about.
I must have seen most, if not all, of McManaman's anfield matches from my perch in the Kemlyn, and, while he was extremely talented I always felt he was just short of being really "great". I found him light weight, wasteful and not enough of a goal threat that his skills should have made him. Not saying he was crap, just not top top level. Maybe I was spoilt with expecting wingers to be like Barnes.

Totally agree with your estimation.

Congrats BTW - your reference to Digger has achieved the nearly impossible and given me a slight trace of sympathy for McManaman after all. I loved Cally back in Shanks' day, but Digger set a new standard for wingers in the red shirt - one which nobody else has reached since either.

One of my abiding memories of McManaman (and I don't know why this one, particularity, sticks in my mind) was a match where we were attacking the Kop end and Macca was playing on the right (in front of the main stand). Ball gets cleared by our defence & there is a very promising break on, Macca has the ball, fully under control, on the right touchline, and two strikers (Fowler & Rush maybe) were in space, running into the penalty box. Just needed a half decent cross in & one of them would have scored. Macca, inexplicably, ran the ball over the touch line ...

At least that is balanced by my other memory of him, which is scoring a beautiful volley over his shoulder, direct from receiving a throw, on the corner of the 18 yard box,at Highbury

Ah - here it is (surprisingly cant find a video of the first one 🙂)

NOOOOOOOO !!!! Not Jack please, I so wanted him....so so want him.....Noooo please dont sign Jack please dont do it....
I want a Roller, a 7 figure income, a mansion with a 3-acre lake, and Rebel Wilson before she lost all that weight!
City are definitely going to unashamedly parade the corpse of FFP through the streets as part of their flexing this summer. The only financial cost savings City willI do this summer will be ordering a plane to make a pit stop in Birmingham to pick up Grealish with Harry Kane already in it.

Hope so. Robertson could do with some rest.

Yes he could, and despite the fact that he was obv.signed as backup to Robbo I'd still have hoped to see more of Tsimikas than we actually have. We can only keep our fingers crossed that's not a sign that things haven't gone as well as we'd hoped.

I just don't get it
Its ok Rosco, you will feel happy we might see Kostas, our 4.5M signing from last year play for us, like the guys are saying ... it will be like a new signing, who gives a shit that City will have all the best that England can offer.

I honestly feel like shit thinking both Kane and Grealish will be theirs next season. Fucking agent Henderson better be putting him off , like grabbing Fodden and Sterling ny their necks and saying 'Oi Jack...these are what cunts look like..do you really want to play with them every week ?'

Citing the Sunday Post, they reveal that Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn is now a transfer target.

The 26-year-old makes Dean Smith’s midfield tick and boasts an all-action style that would seemingly be to Klopp’s liking.

McGinn is currently starring for Scotland at Euro 2020, and such a move would share similarities with the acquisition of Andy Robertson.

The left-back was a low-profile signing from a team further down the table in Hull in 2017. However, since arriving, nothing Robertson has done has gone under the radar.

The Scot has developed into one of the world’s best left backs and was bought for just £8m.

A figure of at least £20m is touted as being required to seal McGinn’s signature. For a proven Premier League performer entering the prime years of his career, that would represent tremendous value.
