Transfer Rumours 21/22

Great news, that is if they play him. Also, seems like we're not ready to let him go just yet.
What does it say about Nat though? Bournemouth are not interested it seems despite helping them get promoted.

I think our required cost is putting them off.
I think he'd do really well in Italy imo.

Nat is perfect in the PL for a lower club that sits back. Great at heading, committed, reads the game ok. Just no pace for a high line like ours. Similar to say, Conor Coady.

£20m for last season's Bobby sounds not too bad a deal if it was earlier in the window but Kloppo wants his squad through preseason together so cant see any deal happening now. Hopefully he's better this season with a bit of a rest, we'll see.

If it means we get a CM, and Fabio C can fill Bobby's role, I am okay with that.
Hate selling to those tight pocketed Italian club, always want players for pennies...
If we sell get all the money up front before he even gets on the plane from those tight fuckers

Yes, I'd imagine they'd be talking about paying cash until the player was ready to move and we were willing to make a deal and then last minute offer a loan deal with option to buy. Because that's how these cunts roll.

Regarding Firmino, why not?
Yeah the fee is a bit on the low side, but he hasn't exactly been great these last two seasons.
We've got Elliott and Carvalho backing up Diaz and Salah. Jota behind Nunez.
Do we actually need to replace him?

It made sense this summer too.. we got the forward..

I reckon we’d be short a forward if we sold Firmino this season - it lessens the need for Nunez to integrate very quickly.

Bobby still leads the press better than anyone - Nunez can learn plenty from him.

Yeah - I think we do need to replace him - or at least give Nunez time to integrate.

Jota’s injured - likely not for long, but still , without Bobby, pressure would be on Nunez to deliver immediately - that feels unnecessary.

Alisson Becker
The Liverpool No.1 is recovering from an abdominal injury.
Jürgen Klopp on July 15: "Ali, I think, has the chance for City and Diogo not. Ali, he feels a muscle, abdominal. It's nothing serious but, again, we prepare a full season."
Diogo Jota
The forward is currently sidelined with a hamstring issue.
Jürgen Klopp on July 15: “Diogo is a concern. With Diogo it’s a muscle again."
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
The No.15 suffered a muscle injury during the friendly with Crystal Palace in Singapore.
Jürgen Klopp on July 15: "I don't know exactly how long it will take but he will be back and then it's all fine.”
Calvin Ramsay
The summer arrival missed out on the pre-season tour of Asia with a minor fitness issue.
Jürgen Klopp on July 9: "Unfortunately, Calvin is now not training with us in the moment, he has a little injury. Nobody knew, we found it when he did his medical check."
Caoimhin Kelleher
The Republic of Ireland international is currently unavailable for selection.
Jürgen Klopp on July 15: "They [Ramsay and Kelleher] will join the group, of course. No doubt about that. The timeframe, I don’t know exactly."

If he is willing to remain a squad member at maybe slightly lower wages, I would extend his contract also. If things are not working out, Bobby Diaz Salah offers us the backup option of going back to a system which works.

yes we will be considering we let go of Taki, Divok, and Mane, and replaced with just Nunez. But if selling Bobby means getting a midfielder like the one that is being talked about (not the over-priced young lad from Klopp's old team), then I am all for it. I think Klopp can turn that new Carvalho kid into the next Bobby type role if he needs to. I am all for moving Bobby on. Served his purpose:

1) Was useless when we bought him.
2) Became key once he had fast runners on both sides of him in Salah, and Mane
3) Looks fucked now - and Serie A is about the right pace for him.

I know your name is Moron, but even by that standard, a paragraph which starts by naming Nunez as the only replacement we bought Mane, Origi and Minamino, and mentions Carvalho at the same time as trying to pretend he wasn’t brought in to also replace them - is pretty dumb.

It’s pretty obvious that Mane, Origi & Minamino have been replaced by Diaz, Nunez & Carvalho - with Diaz being brought in early due to Spurs making their move.

You can be pretty certain that the 3 that left came as no surprise to the recruitment team - in the same way that we’ll be planning for Bobby, Ox & Milner to finish up at the end of this season.

The one that’s a little more problematic is Kieta, as we clearly want him to stay, hence the focus on his new contract.

This 'integrate him slowly' surely isn't a thing with a £65 - 85m player. Has Klopp ever done that with an expensive player? VvD or Alisson for example.

He isn't a Robbo case of slow integration over a 6 month period because the situation is completely different, as shown in the training sessions and friendlies we've played. That integration is well evolved in pre-season and we'll see Nunez in virtually all of our early games, either starting or coming on for 30 mins. After 10 games I expect him to be starting virtually every game.

This being from 10 days ago it's well out of date as far as recoveries go.

Any updated info anyone?

Whilst I agree with keeping Bobby for another season, or even a 2 year renewal on lower wages, whilst Carvalho & Elliott (and maybe Gordon, though in a different position of course) fully integrate themselves, I don't see the point in any reversion to an older system, we have to move forward.

Origi started 5 games in all competitions with a total of 607 mins : big picture - irrelevant.

Taki started 9 games in all competitions with a total of 1,021 mins : overall he is easily replaced though we may miss his goals in the early rounds of the FAC and LC - but that's not an issue for me, I'd rather we concentrate on and win PL/CL and give youngsters valuable game time in the early rounds.

Mane has been replaced by Diaz. You can ignore reality all you like but the club stated clearly that Diaz was a Summer signing that had to be made earlier than expected.

So in conclusion Diaz, Carvalho and Nunez have replaced Origi, Taki and Mane. In my book we are a lot stronger not weaker.

I think it depends on the player and the position.

Fabinho took a while to settle in, Konate wasn’t rushed, Robertson - while others slotted straight in.

It’ll be up to Nunez as to how quickly ne slots in - but he is not just turned 23 - so he’s a lot younger. I almost feel like he’s been signed a year earlier that we would have preferred.

I think Klopp will take the pressure off him by not rushing him. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Bobby start the season as first choice, for a few games at least.

Well Fabinho was £40M (compared to Salah at £38M for example), and, at the time, was second only to Van Dijk (it was before we bought Alisson). Depends where you draw the line for "expensive" I guess
