"Obligation to buy" means stuff all to Serie A clubs. Wijnaldum better have a stellar season or they'll weasel out of it somehow this time next year.

What is the deal with Matheus Nunes? I've never heard of him before this window, tbh. Can someone knowledgeable fill me in? Is he good? Why is everyone suddwnly trying to sign him?

I think it's Sporting trying to trigger an auction.

Really hoping this is true, he is the type of player from all the stuff I have read - that I think we need. Also with Ox being fucked, we need someone who is a senior experienced midfielder to plug the gap, don't think the youngsters we have are going to give that experience we are looking for. Really hoping we get this guy, if we do - I expect us to:

1) Get the Quad this season
2) Get more than the 100 points and beat City's points record.
3) Go unbeaten.

I know - I am nuts, but I think the lads will be well up for this and really can do it. I can see it now, .....

Unless Naby leaves, we are not getting anyone. Klopp has already indicated this. I think Nunes is quality too but more likely Wolves will get him

[article]Liverpool chiefs are considering selling Roberto Firmino over handing him a new contract.

TuttoJuve says Juventus are considering Firmino as an option to bolster their attacking ranks further ahead of the new campaign.

The 36-time Serie A champions have presented Liverpool with a formal bid worth £19.5m as they look to add to their capture of Angel di Maria.

However, there are doubts over the offer among the Reds' hierarchy, which could prompt Juventus to return with an improved approach in the coming days.

The Bianconeri may aim to seal an agreement as soon as possible, although whether Liverpool would cash in on Firmino if the price is right remains to be seen. The Brazilian has less than a year to run on his Reds deal.

The 30-year-old has won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup during his stint on Merseyside.[/article]

It'll be sad, but bobby isn't the force he was, so providing we find an adequate replacement, I'm ok with it

If it means we get a CM, and Fabio C can fill Bobby's role, I am okay with that.

Fuck that shit.

19m is an insult. Bobby would do magic in Serie A. Let him win us another title before he goes.

Anyone saying they are OK with Bobby leaving for £20 million or at all can fuck off

Given what we let Sadio leave for, that’s about the price we can expect for Bobby if he wants to go.

Personally, I wouldn’t sell - I’d also be happy extending his contract another 3 years, at the right price, if he’s happy to take more of a Milner-type backseat role.

You ok with him leaving for free next summer?

Given that would give us time to identify and bring in a replacement without having to break them in at the same time as Nunez - it absolutely makes sense to retain him this season, even if it does mean he leaves on a free.

Bobby and Naby are entering the last year of their contacts, its either they resign or sell, or its £40m walking out next summer. I'd be okay with Bobby resigning

If they go next summer, then we’ll manage the transition - we’re clearly not going to be bounced into buying a player at short notice this summer.

A midfielder and a forward next summer makes sense.

Naby and Bobby are worth £40m, I just don't want to see that walk out knowing it will hurt us as the owners will not dip into their pockets. £40m gets you a Nunes a CM
