Transfer Rumours 21/22

The whole shirt sales discussion was put to bed ages ago.
Sorry... I just posted it because it was in another forum (as I thought it was interesting £76m was huge sum in 1 week), the claim was that Nike and Liverpool were working on a deal. Its a load of bull and I have no doubt he will resign for PSG on some £500k plus a week deal.

How good is this guy? Some sating that he's like a cross between Coutinho and Bruno Fernandes. I really do think we could do with a true front foot dribbler in our midfield

The figure being touted is £53m, I don't remember press raving about him. I just don't know. As long as the guy stays fit, I'm happy.

Interesting but he doesn't play like either Coutinho or Bruno Fernandes, he does however look like a great finisher. Replacement for Firmino ? Because he's not coming in for AM with Hendo, Jones, Keita and Ox clearly Klopp's lineup (according to his comments) for that position next season (no he's not going to sell them without a big offer which won't be incoming).

Surely a player that can play anywhere in our front five world be perfect, given our injury record?

Of course. However in those clips he was primarily centre, occasionally drifting left or right but not wide, so AM or CF? Not sure what his pace is like as he doesn't seem to rely on it at all and that surely is a prerequisite for Mo or Mane's positions. I'm literally only going from that video as I've never seen him 'live' !

I would rather develop Elliott from one perspective and buy a proven premier league dribbler like Zaha from another with that kind of money.

I would be worried he could adapt physically, although Fernandes has, bar his baby screams.

Is it just me or is his positioning, general play, and goal scoring Salahesq?

Lille did PSG. Great news!

We should have a look at that Jonathan David, Lille forward. Canadian.

I was just going to ask 6CM about this guy. Only 21 years old. But he's been part of a team that's kept Mbappe and Neymar away from the Frech League title.

Saw a video a couple of months back and thought he had something special.
Also that lad from PSV looked to have something a cut above.

Definitely looks like someone who would improve our midfield/attack creativity-wise.

From Redcafe( allI could find):

"He has been absolutely brilliant for us this season. 9 goals and 1 assist in 7 games Pedro Goncalves (Pote) and Joao Palhinha have been the key players to Sporting's fantastic and unexpected start to the season.

The small diminutive midfielder has shown a hell of an eye for goal and has a goal scoring ratio strikers would be jealous of. In Sporting he has been deployed further up and closer to goal where as in Famalicao he was more of the creator of the team. His IQ is very high and he knows how to get into the little spaces in the final third.

It is still very early to tell or predict what his peak is but at just 22 he can get even better.

Does he have the clear undeniable quality Bruno had? No but this can change who knows.

The real question is, is he a Bruno Fernandes (a player whose level is much higher then Portugal and would succeed in a bigger league) or is he a Pizzi ( a player who stands out in the Portuguese league but would struggle in the EPL level)

MY opinion is I am leaning towards him being capable to play at a higher level BUT I think it is still too early for me to put all my chips on one side and for me to make an assertive opinion.

I will for sure keep the thread updated though.

9 goals in 7 games is not an accident though, the kid has something about him for sure."

Hoping we sign Houssem Aouar (to replace Nabi/AOC), a Bissouma type (to replace Gini), Konate, another forward (to replace Origi) and some cover at FB (to help Trent/Robbo; preferably a Zambrotta type who can play both sides).

Not sure how much it'll cost, but I think we need at least 4 or 5 fresh faces.

Probably not possible at this time, but Joe Willock has scored seven goals in seven games for the mighty Newcastle. His contract with arsenal runs out 2023. Should we be keeping an eye on this boy?

We'll probably sign 3 - CB, CM and an attacker.

Don't think Ox or Keita will leave.

Re: the versatile full back, I had previously mentioned Elseid Hysaj of Napoli who's available on a free transfer. Very comfortable playing RB and LB, and would be an ideal signing.

Will Tsimitas be on his way then ? Because if he's not we won't be signing a backup FB. It's Neco at RB and Tsimitas at LB with Millie as in game backup if they are not on the bench or as back up for the back ups.

Yeah, that seems likely. But I'm not a fan of specialist cover at RB and LB. We have clear first choices at those positions, and those specialist backups simply don't get enough playing time. Which is why the best solution for backup FB is always a role player who can play multiple positions (like Milner) or a full-back like Arbeloa (or Lahm or Zambrotta if you want the deluxe version) who can comfortably play both flanks. The backup just gets more playing time that way, and is sharper for it.

As it stands, we can't give Tsimikas or Neco any playing time except in the domestic cups. Those one off appearances are not enough to keep them sharp.

I think Ox is in the "sell if we get a decent offer" seat.
He would have got a send off like Gini if he was definitely out.

I don’t think Ox is in that seat at all.

Kieta, on the other hand is.

If he isn't he should be.

It’s him or Wilson (this season).

I’ll say it again - we can only replace Ox with another homegrown player.

If we can find a senior homegrown player, worth signing, that offers an upgrade and works financially- which would mean not costing much more than we sell him for - then sure.

If we can sell both Wilson & Ox - great - but we’ll still need a senior homegrown player to replace them.

I’d still sell Keita first.

I've no stats on the issue but Klopp seeams to include AOX in the squad on any occassion that he's been available ahead of Jones/Shaq/Keita. He also brings him on were possible.

Why would we not sell keita? He's offered fuck all and made of weaker stuff than matip.
Some daft cunt wants to offer up the cash we want then by all means.

He's pure aquilani
