Transfer Rumours 21/22

Really liking Olly Watkins but I fear his price tag will be north of 50m. I can see Watkins doing that Firmino role really well and Watkins looks a handful so he would occupy the defenders.

I’ve said it before, but I don’t think Tielemans is mobile or quick enough for our midfield.

Yeah, he’s had a brilliant first premier league season as a raw talent leading the line alone. We could do a lot worse.

I really hope the link to Aaron Ramsey isn't true. Isn't he on something stupid per week? Moreover, he is 30 and made from the same stuff as Kieta.

Villa bought him for £28m rising to £33m, which i suspect must have been triggered. £33m for a championship player is mind boggling but it has proven to be a shrewd move.

They will be looking for at least £60m i reckon.

No.. he's an upgrade (on Gini). We've been crying out for a goal threat from midfield.

Tielemans would be a cracking signing IMO.

He's very one paced - prefers to dictate play from the back rather than push up and score goals.
He's got a cracking shot from distance - but so does Fabinho.
He's scored 12 goals in 3 years with Leicester ...
I think Maddison would be a better player for what we need - as we need someone who'll be ahead of Fabinho & Thiago, though he's a bit of a sick note too, so prefer someone else.

I would rather get Coutinho on loan for a season, not sure if we will able to buy him back for crazy money. He will be more than happy to come back to Liverpool. It will be easier for Klopp him to get integrated. I think it will be make a bit harder for lower league oppositions to plan playing against us if he can be available as a sub or starting few games. Let Coutinho earn his place ahead of Mane or even any midfielder if needed.
He is 28 now and still has 2 years left on his Barca contract. I think he could still give Liverpool another 3 years of top performance as he will be at his peak performing age.

If Fabs is injured or, God forbid, have to step in at CB we dont have a midfielder like him. The Bissouma signing makes sense.
But we also need to add goals from midfield. Swapping out Ox and Shaq with someone who can contribute.

Kylian Mbappe is continuing to drag his heels regarding signing a new contract with PSG, with the World Cup winner reportedly open to a future move to Liverpool

The 22-year-old continues to be linked with a move to Anfield as speculation about his future in France persists ahead of his contract expiring in 2022.
Reports in France suggest the striker won't make a decision about his immediate future until after EURO 2020, with Le Parisien claiming he could see himself playing for either Liverpool or Real Madrid when the time comes for him to leave Parc des Princes with the two clubs being the sides that attract him most.
Yet a summer exit for Mbappe is by no means certain with the report suggesting he is open to staying at PSG, a club 'he loves dearly' as the Ligue 1 giants look to tie him down to an extension.
However, the length of a new deal remains a sticking point for for the forward.

Translation: tease the fuck out of Liverpool fans, try to prompt Madrid to get their shit together and throw in a bid, and get PSG to stump up a better contract offer.

Not happening.

Yee of little faith.
Klopp is obviously a massive draw.
Mbappe wants to try and fill Bobby's shoes ... not an easy ask but if anyone can do it, he can.
Draw or not.. no way FSG are breaking the wage structure for him.

If he's paid through Nike we will leave ourselves open to third party ownership breaches.

His contract expires next year. If he can string them along until January he would become more affordable. Pay him for a couple of years and then recoup most of the outlay by selling him to Barca. We'd probably even make a nice profit on him.

It's the wages that will be the problem.. come January he'll want a nice fat signing on fee.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic's shirt sales alone show why no-one should give a shit about Paul Pogba's price

That's how you do business.

Bring Zlatan Ibrahimovic on board for free, pay him a ridiculous amount of money for the pleasure of his company, watch it all return in shirts sales 25 times over.
So Manchester United not only have one of the world's finest strikers on their cards, they have a money-making PR dream and they have solid justification for breaking the world record transfer fee on a player they already had on their books only four years ago.

£76m of real money. In one week.
At that rate, United could pay for an overpriced Gonzalo Higuain every single week. And that's only through one player's shirt sales.
So if the club do go spending triple figures on a 23-year-old midfielder, fans needn't worry - not that really were anyway. Caring about money when you support a club like Manchester United is just a face-saving exercise so opposition fans don't have any more undue ammunition on you.

He'll change his mind when he sees the tax he'll have to pay. We can keep him in the existing wage structure, and make a "charitable donation" to one of his projects in africa that nobody else needs to know about, and then recoup it all when we sell him.
