Manchester City are willing to sell England forward Raheem Sterling, 26, this summer to help finance potential moves for Borussia Dortmund's Haaland and Aston Villa's England midfielder Jack Grealish, 25

It's a funny one this. How many of you would want to see him back at the club..?
I would have Coutinho back,. Being Brazilain it is a dream of most south American players to play for Barca & Real so I understand what drove Coutinho to move. Sterling however, No way would I want himk back. I thought the way he departed from the club showed disdain and disrespect for the supporters and club, and If City were to fail to win the CL, he would be looking to engineer a move to Barca,PSG, or Real...

So fuck him

Yeah, hope we sign him. Since January he’s just about been the stand out player in every game they’ve played. Always bosses the midfield, so dynamic.

Think he's a bit under the radar cos of Mbappe and Haaland's prominence + he's not playing in a team that's featuring in CL/Europa League.

As if Dortmund would touch Ox, he's started 2 games this season and we lost both. His career has completely fizzled out. Some of these rumours are so implausible you have to wonder why people bother making them up.

On the plus side anything we can get for him is free money because his contribution to the team is non existent. Same goes for Minamino, Origi, Davies, Tsimikas

They took Mario Gotze back and paid £20m for the privilege, there is hope there

Every club makes the occasional bad signing, even the ones that have an uncanny eye for talent like Dortmund, but let's not pretend Gotze and Ox represent the same sort of risk reward scenario.

I genuinely think he's one that we are going to struggle to find a buyer for unless we are prepared to sell for next to nothing. Hes got 2 years to run on a £120k a week salary, is anybody going to give him a contract nearly as valuable again?

I think an English club could buy him. Someone like Leicester perhaps. Rodgers is exactly the sort who'd like to buy a player like Ox. They're paying Vardy, Schmeichel, Madisson 100k plus, so they'd likely be ok paying that to Ox as well. If we're willing to accept something like 20 million for him, I think we'd have some buyers.

Keita is someone who I think we'll struggle moving more. I can't see anyone in England buying him, so we'd have to flog him somewhere abroad. And nobody will give us the kind of money we'd want - 35-40 million. The only way that happens is that we loan him out, he plays absolutely brilliantly somewhere and restores his value.

Egypt forward Mohamed Salah wants to leave Liverpool and Paris St-Germain are planning to make a bid for the 28-year-old if France striker Kylian Mbappe, 22, leaves in the summer.

Ftill very much a rumour at this point at this point... Still keeping a close eye on this one
He wants to stay but on improved terms. He has constantly told the press that the club have not approached him with the view of extending his contract.

Thinking about Luis Suárez and that it was FSG who sold him, and that the manager had little to no say on the matter... Yes I kown the circumstances and the reason why FSG said he had to go, but did they really need to sell him, or was that to save them having find the extra money of transfers...?

Is this now about Salah's and the fact that his value will start to fall in the transfer market, and you have younger players out there like Kylian Mbappé that are roughly the same price who over the next 4-5 years that their value will only rise so FSG are looking to sell Salah buy someone like Mbappé,Haaland, Sancho etc and therefore replace a old player with a younger one at little to no cost..?

Salah may well want to stay, but is that in FSG's plans...?

We can't get Haaland or Mbappe so there is little point selling Salah unless someone is willing to pay mad money.

The players we can get will likely be affordable whether we sell Salah or not.

What do you call mad money...?

If we sold Salah for a £100m, plus the Ox for £17m Shaqiri for £13m (£130m in total) The currnt asking price for Haaland is £150m we need only find £20m
Mbappe Market value: £144m and while Shacho's Market value: £90m

Liverpool
have been offered a cut-price opportunity to sign Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti, claims Anfield Central.
The 27-year-old France World Cup winner is surplus to requirements at the Camp Nou and it’s reported Barca would accept just £6million for the centre-back they signed for £24.6m from Lyon in 2016.
Liverpool are being touted as potential destination for Umtiti, who could help solve the Reds’ season-long defensive injury crisis.

No more Italian experiments.

Haaland and Mbappe are out of our league purely based on wage demand, not forgetting we are not in the CL next season.

I know it’s you, and reality sometimes seems to pass you by, but if we sell 3 players we have to replace 3 players.

The idea is that you sell one player to fund the purchase of multiple players to input over the squad, not 3 players to buy one - because, while that one player might be really good... he’s one player.

I’m all for selling a few players, but if we managed to sell those 3 players for £130m - we’d need to bring in 3 players - which means, using your figures you’d need to spend something close to £200m to actually improve the squad.

Added to that - who’s playing and backing up the attacking right positions after you’ve sold just about everyone that’s filled in there over the last few years and replaced them with someone that isn’t likely to play there.

The other critical thing you appear to be forgetting is - who exactly is going to pay £100m for Salah and why would they do that if the other players on your list are available at the prices you reckon they are.

If I had £100m and Salah was available for that or Mbappe was available for £144m - I’d sell someone less important to my team for £44m, but Mbappe and tell Salah to fuck of.

The few teams that can afford these top players are teams that don’t need to sell anyone significant to buy them.

We’re not in that bracket - hence why we need to looking at players half that price bracket that are good that we can afford.

Jesus Christ. What is the maximum we have EVER paid for a player ? And now you believe we will/can near enough double it?! At a time like this?

There is very very little chance Mbappe or Haaland will join us. One the fee, two the wages and three lack of CL football next season.

There is only slightly more chance we'll be signing Sancho. Only thing that goes in his favour is he has friends here.

We will be looking at players from traditional 'non-big' clubs or those out of favour at their current club.

Fully expect our highest transfer fee to be less than £50m

You’re either a bona fide fucking idiot, or a pre pubescent teenager. Either way you’re talking absolute fucking nonsense.

Like it or not, these players believe they have to play CL football, and they want to be virtually guaranteed to be in it every year. We were almost reaching that standing in players perceptions in Europe but this abysmal season, at exactly the wrong time financially, has put paid to that.

Feel better though, once you’ve got players keen to join there’s just the small matter of the owners putting their hands in their pockets in a meaningful way, and that wasn’t going to happen anyway.
