Still less games missed than Keita and Matip over the same period.

Thanks for that i was unaware of his injury issues

Tell you who we should be buying.. Saint-Maximin as a replacement for Mane.

I like St-Maximum but this seemingly casual disdain for Mane like all of a sudden he's disposal trash. Mane still the man for me, even if we get Saint Maximum, hell have to play really well to displace Mane. I think we take for granted the groundwork and shift Mane puts in even when playing below his high standards.

Ain't no one looking outstanding in this team at the moment, you could argue every play in this team could be replaced based on performances this season tbh. I think Klopp has to take some blame for not being tactically flexible when we lost the cheat code defender VVD. I think with VVD in our team we defoe get instant 10% from every player just as we did when we signed him then hopefully we will see fewer posts about replacements for Mane.

PS - Mane is an old man at 29 so I can understand why we need to think about replacement but I can see him doing and playing well in his 30s, he looks like someone who subscribes to the James Milner school of ageing.

What happened to Flick? Are they firing him because he did not win a treble this season?

Had a falling out with Salihamidzic.

Basically, Flick built up alot of power within the club - very popular with the players & fans - and some of the board members don't like that.

Interesting that they chose Salihamidzic over a treble winning manager. I know Salihamidzic was a very good Bayern player but it is not like he is a legend like Muller or Kahn.

Yep I agree - but Bayern are ruthless.

Same thing pretty much happened after Jupp Heynckes won everything around 10 yrs ago.

Bayern always have another manager ready to go.

With Heynckes - they already has Pep lined up.

With Flick - they already had Nagelsmann lined up.

Wasnt Heynckes a slightly different scenario. I think they fired Ancelotti (or maybe someone else) 5-10 games into the season, got Jupp out of retirement as a caretaker manager. Jupp agreed to manage till the end of the season only. Then they signed Pep to take over at the end of the season. Jupp then goes and wins the treble.

This one seems to be a clash of egos more than anything from what you describe. Given the success they have, cant fault their way of working though.

It was a different scenario but Bayern do not believe in the cult of managers thats so prevalent in English football. If you clash with the board you are done, regardless of success.

Does anyone watch Bundesliga? I'm looking at this guy FILIP KOSTIĆ, looks like a nice alternative to Grealish, stats are similar to Sancho on FootballCritic website

I agree with most of what you are say, but I don't think it is disdain for Mane (well at least not from this corner) as a see Saint Maximum more in a Gini/Keita roll

I think Manager cult is really us than any other club that I know of. No other club has such reverence for past successfull managers than we do.

No club has had as many successful managers as us. Man United have had two, Busby and Fergie - both just idolised as any of our greats. Managers and Coaches have always had recognition here which is why many of them like to work here.

Liverpool owners FSG are reported to have sounded out Julen Lopetegui as a replacement for Jurgen Klopp THIS summer.

The bullish claims are made by Fijaches, who claim Klopp will depart Anfield at the end of the season.

It’s been a particularly tough year for Klopp and Liverpool after a tepid defence of their Premier League crown. The club faces a battle to secure a top-four finish, such has been their drop-off.

Still, it’s an enormous claim from the Spanish outlet to make. It’s believed a parting of ways will be agreed mutually, with both parties in agreement.

Furthermore, they state Fenway Sport Group have already identified Sevilla coach Lopetegui as his successor. The Spaniard has rebuilt his reputation in Andalusia after a difficult spell with Real Madrid and the Spanish national job.

The report states Liverpool are not alone, however, in admiration for Lopetegui. However, they write that he’s the one chosen to succeed Klopp and they are prepared to pay whatever it takes to get him out of his Sevilla contract.

They claim Sevilla will not stand in his way and will leave the final choice to Lopetegui over Liverpool.

Klopp for his part has recently been linked with the Germany and Bayern Munich jobs. While both have been filled by alternatives, he remains among the favourites to be next manager to leave in the Premier League.

Contracted to summer 2024, Klopp would likely take a break before taking up his next role. Were Klopp to leave Anfield this summer, or at the end of his deal, he will depart a legend and forever engrained in Liverpool history.

Strange article... hasn't Nagelsmann pretty much been confirmed for the Bayern job with Flick strongly linked to the Germany job?

If there were any grain of truth to this, I'd be pretty wary of taking any manager from Sevilla.

Klopp is a man of his word. Fake news.
I wouldn't blame him if he did quit. The owners ignored his request for recruitment and then totally ignored him when it came to CL.
Wondering if they really didn't care too much about this season thinking they would be in the Super League?

Phil from Barca to Everton getting cherped about on twitter.

Has he been playing much for Barcelona?
