I'm afraid that the inclusion of Carroll will fuck our game up today.
I hope not but I just don't see Suarez and Carroll working well together. Hope I'm wrong.

*cough*

Very flat whingy shrug shouldersy performance, Spurs started well got a nice goal, if slightly fortunate and the shut up shop. Webb isnt at fault for our lack of effort and desire nor for our atrocious options from the bench, Webb is at fault for a fucking disgraceful pen which basically killed the game. It was lack of experience from flanno but nonetheless never a pen.

Shame the optimism of recent weeks should be dashed on the rocks of such a poor display, i wanted the UEFA cup however inconvenient it is. Meirelles was missed.

Mind you Anfield was so fucking quiet the Spurs fans deserved it more.

Shite.

The only possible brightside is that the owner can now see that we definitely actually really and truly need a bit more player ooomph this summer... get the chequebook out.... bringing on Shelvey Ngog and cole is not funny.

Well, that was poor. We started slowly against a good side with two in form centre halves and never got back into it. Webb, with his bizarre penalty award, didn't help.

Carroll was very worrying, he never looked likely to get on the end of anything. Dawson always got there before him and while I like Dawson, he's hardly Bobby Moore.
[/quote]

yep, i think i'm officially worried about carroll now. at best i think we've blown £10m with some unnecessary desire to salve the wounds of torres's departure. i said it at the time, we should've just taken a deep breath and waited for the summer.

I think it was a collective mental breakdown today. With the destruction of Fulham, Kenny getting a contract, pundits everywhere hailing us as the best Liverpool team in 20 years etc, I think most of the players, and perhaps even Kenny, felt that the season was over. "We've done good, now we can chill, hopefully Spurs will just roll over and die".

kenny was clearly waiting to broker a contract with a massive sacking clause to start playing shit so he can walk off with a cool 20 mill..............

I honestly don't care about making 4th, and I haven't bought in to the idea that our wins when it stopped mattering anymore are evidence of some massive renaissance.

The club still has a number of issues concerning many players being poor, and not being in a shit competition and being able to focus purely on the premiership could make us prioritize the right things for next season.

Our team shouldn't have to be on song to beat the shit in the premier league, it should just be easily better than them as well.

So glad Liverpool loses and you're right. So glad, you twat. >🙁

Oh it was never a penalty / fair shoulder outside the box.

But good point on the owners - they have to see our lack of depth.

I yelled at Suarez today and called him Garcia! Touch was poor - going through people too much.

This Caroll talk is just silly. HEs just back from injury. Suspend judgement till Christmas - or at least go back and watch those goals vs city

Why the fuck would you worry about Carroll?! Just returned from injury, again. Stop start career so far because of injury with us so far.?The whole team was below average and you single out him. Ridiculous.

When did our wins stop mattering? We were not out of the woods regarding relegation when Kenny took over. You don't perform as we have under him if *that* many of our players were poor. What he's done may be only the start of what's needed, but it's been a darn good one.

its just early opinions, i for one wasnt totally convinced carroll would fit into our system when we got him and to be honest he hasnt done much to change my mind, however it is early days and id never judge him at this stage

Your use of the english language is so poor you even confuse yourself.

There is no way the way liverpool played was purely associated with Carroll. There were all sorts of reasons from Dawson and King playing solidly, to Webb gifting them a penalty to Spearing and Lucs not matching Spurs 3 man midfield, Spurs coming out faster and harder at the KO.

The very fact that you bought your post up really goes to shows all you're interested is being right.

i don't think he's a bad player, i'm just not convinced he's the right player for us and i think paying £35m for him when he was carrying a medium-term injury and we had little to play for was pretty bad business, although i suppose just how bad depends on exactly how much we spend this summer.

i know a lot of you don't care about the 'deal' aspect of a signing, but i think it's pretty important.

alright now kids, dont make me turn this car around
spurs defence was on top form, but if we started with shelvey instead of carroll and played what we're used to i think we would have had a much better chance, modo clearly didnt want us to lose

Why wouldnt he fit in to our system?? If you've wathced him play for Newcastle you'd see that he's as good on the deck as in the air. We've signed the best up anc coming nr 9 in England, and he'll bang in the goals for years to come.
The reason he looks of pace is because he hasnt had a long run in the first team yet and a very start stop LFC career so far.

A good pre season under his belt, wingers who can attack the full backs and cross and we'll suddenly look like a team that can play fast crisp passing on the ground but also attack in the air.
The main thing here is that we get diversity and can change things around.

So, give him a year before making a judgement. The fee was inflated because of Torres. So just forget it, it doesnt matter anyway.

On the plus side, I thought Carroll's link up play and passing was good, it was just his inability to get into good positions when the ball went into the box that worried me.

If all the mods weren't pissed or busy, lewy wouldn't need to step in!

So well played lewy!
