Liverpool: ruiner of top class strikers
Disagree Keni! Its more like if you leave Liverpool you're fooked.

I wouldn't be so smug about him being a bit crap at the mo, there's always a chance he'll turn things around

I had a dream about Torres last night.

He'd already moved to Chelsea, but was at Stevie's house, just hanging out.

For some reason, Stevie's house was a typical 3-bedroom suburban, Brookie-type place.

Anyway, there were a load of Stevie's family there and me (fuck knows what I was doing there).

I kept trying to engage Torres in conversation, but he wasn't having it.

I was getting increasingly wound up, but left him to it, lest I should bitch-slap him and get kicked out.

I played with the family dog, a fluffy little Terrier of some type (didn't know it's name).

Anyhow, I was staying the night and decided to stay in when everyone else went out for dinner.

I sat and watched tv and the dog crashed on another seat.

The dog started mumbling to itself in a Scottish accent !

No-one believed me (about the talking doggie) not even Stevie.

Maybe the dream was really about the dog ?

your dreams are fucking shit. i dreamt i went to the moon on an air balloon last night.

Yeah you do. We all do, apparently. Remembering them's the tricky bit.

I don't remember my dreams.
Its normally to do when you wake up. Sleep is divided into 3 30 minute cycles of REM and 2 other types of shite. You dream when you're in one of em so if you wake up in that period you remember what you dream

*scratches head*

Think thats what i learned in uni anyway

I think we played to suit him more than Chelsea and Spain do. He's a player who thrives on space up top, but for Spain he plays off Villa and for Chelsea he's never really fitted their narrow, compact system plus they don't have Gerrard and the likes of Yossi feeding him. I know Yossi is barely a World beater, but he played some great through balls for Torres.

Aside from football though, mentally there's definitely something amiss, he's nowhere near the work hungry player we signed. Has he believed his own hype and fallen behind? Probably.
You make some good points here Mark.

a) Rafa's system was designed to make the most out of Torres' talent. He didn't let us down, and just 'clicked' and was phenomenal.

b) He has seemed unhappy now for the better part of 30 months. Not sure what it is - but I thought he'd be 'happier' at Chelsea (just because he wasn't happy at Liverpool), and that hasn't happened. He looks miserable.

c) He doesn't fit in at all to Chelsea's system, so he's fucked there. 1 goal on a waterlogged pitch in 20+ appearances is a return that is horrifyingly poor. What are the odds Ngog scores more goals than him this season?

d) I think he still works hard Mark - but his body isn't what it was two years ago (which perhaps confirms what Vlad and others said around the time we sold him, "rumors that he's fucked&quot😉.

e) I think he needs to return to Spain to save his career ... Otherwise, he'll rival Kaka for biggest flop in recent history.

I agree with both of you and all I can say is: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Fernando Torres believes Juan Mata and Daniel Sturridge will provide Chelsea with the pace that can help him justify his £50million price tag.

Torres has scored only one goal in 27 games for club and country since his January move from Liverpool. The striker puts that partly down to the lack of pace of Chelsea's "older" players and believes Mata and Sturridge will help him regain top form.

Andre Villas-Boas admitted he would consider dropping the Spaniard if it was in the team's interest but Torres is now confident of recapturing the form that made him one of the best players in the world.

"When I changed club, I knew it was going to be a slow process, although I didn't expect it to be so long," Torres told ligabbva.com.

"Chelsea is, between the English teams, maybe the least English.

"That's because of the kind of player Chelsea has - an older player, who plays very slow, who has a lot of possession, and that's what the club is trying to change now.

"It's normal that it takes some time; it's not easy to find midfielders because the best are already in the best teams and that's why I said that the arrival of Mata is going to give another pace to the team.

"Daniel Sturridge, who has been ruled out for some matches, is also an incredible player, maybe the one that surprised me the most since I came here.

"In the next matches, you will see another pace, and I hope the midfield will adapt to that pace.

"That is what you need in the Premier League. If not, then the teams don't work.

"When the team will start to get the ideas of the new coach, about paced and vertical football, it's going to be very good."

Torres believes Mata, who joined from Valencia for around £24million last month, will make the difference between Chelsea challenging champions Manchester United and being also-rans.

He said: "It's a great signing. I'm sure he's going to be a very important player for the club.

"He has all the skills that will help Chelsea to grow and be again at the same level as United, I hope this year.

"He's that kind of player who gives another pace to the game, another way, another way of slipping his markers.

"That's something Chelsea lacks nowadays. They are trying to redesign the team and he's the kind of player we need, young, experienced, world champion.

"This kind of players are not going to be frightened of coming to a new competition and will refresh the team."

Of the criticism of his own form, which dipped after an injury-blighted 2010, Torres said: "I try to recover my best form, my best level, and forget about the injuries.

"The comments and criticisms, both good and bad, have never been a reason to act in one way or another.

"When you go to a restaurant, there is always someone who says, 'What's he doing here' or, 'He's here again'.

"You'll always have comments about you. That's something you can't control."

Torres was bought to help Chelsea win the Champions League and despite admitting Barcelona were currently peerless in Europe, the striker insisted owner Roman Abramovich's dream would "definitely" be fulfilled.

He added: "The team is ready to fight against whoever and it's an ambitious team, with an owner that has a dream and who will never stop till he gets it."

Unbelievable. I wonder what Chelsea's slow midfield will say to him.

LOL!

he's right though. we all say our system suited him so much more and it did. still hope that the screw has been so tightly turned on him now that it'll take him a long time to recover any form.

he's asking the midfield to adapt to the pace, not BE pacy. he wants the team to play high tempo like we do now.

Oh lord, Either he's not very bright, he's doing the manager's bidding, or he's out to get himself transferred...
