Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

for me personally only the timing and transfer request stinks not the leaving, torres was always going to leave in the summer. I was stunned he stayed in the summer to be honest and said as much at the time.

Hah I'm not getting the usual splash page of Torres that usually greets me, but I see within each section there are some pics and videos of him.

FUCK OFF TORRES.

BITTERLY DISAPPOINTED.

A bit late huh DHSC? While he was in Singapore we could already see his attitude lah. But our attention was focused on getting Xabi to stay....

Kenny Dalglish at today's press conference: "The statement that has always stuck with me throughout my time here is that 'the club is bigger than any one individual'. Anyone who thinks otherwise is being a bit irresponsible in my opinion."

I think they have. Torres' page in the squad profiles is still there, but they have taken down the advertising page that you normally have to get past to get on to the home page. I would have a strong suspicion that the missing page had at least one picture of Torres.

I hope we get players to improve the team with the cash. That's all I ask for.

10.21am: Kenny confirms the Konchesky to Fulham and Ayala to Derby stories. He also confirms Suarez has signed.

Garcia being a bellend:

The former Liverpool midfielder Luis García believes their failure to win trophies is one of the main reasons behind Fernando Torres wanting to leave the Merseyside club for Chelsea.

The Premier League champions are set to table an improved bid for the Spain striker ahead of tonight's 11pm transfer deadline, after Liverpool rejected an initial offer and a transfer request from the player himself.

Garcia played for Liverpool from 2004 to 2007, leaving just a day before Torres joined the Reds from Atlético Madrid, but is friendly with his compatriot and feels a lack of success has left him restless.

"Torres left Atlético looking for trophies and titles and he has not achieved any of them and maybe it is time to think about it [a move]," he told BBC Five Live. "Liverpool are in a position where they are struggling in the league and maybe with all the changes they have done it is a good moment [to leave].

"I think Torres is a fantastic player and Chelsea are struggling a bit in the league and maybe that's what they need now. Someone different, someone who can give them more impetus. One player cannot change a team but it will help a lot."

Despite Torres's desire to secure a move away from Anfield, García believes the forward will find it tough to leave Liverpool. "It's always a difficult move. I know he loved his move to Liverpool and I am a bit surprised that he wants to move to Chelsea," he continued.

"I think it would be very hard for him. He loved Atlético but left to join Liverpool and that was difficult, but he did it because he was convinced he would achieve everything he wanted. I think it will be difficult for him and the Liverpool fans."
