its the modern game.. run by agents.. run by agents.. I find it hard to stomach too, but I can see both sides of the argument.

My personal feelings is we should hold on to him till the summer during which we get him back to the torres of old and then sell him to the highest bidder.... then rebuild....
Francesco Totti has stayed at a club who have ONCE shown intentions to be a challenger. That was ten years ago. In the following ten years im fucking CERTAIN that any top club in Europe would have been in for him had he shown any interest in leaving.
And despite being at a penniless club with no real ambition beyond survival he has never flinched. Never been guided by agents, money, the chance to win silverware or be a champion elsewhere. Why?

BECAUSE HE LOVES THE CLUB AND WHEN YOU REALLY MEAN THAT THEN ITS ALL THAT MATTERS AND HE WILL BE REMEMBERED BY THOSE FANS AS A LEGEND, AS THE LEGEND FOR EVER.

If there's any truth to these rumours about him wanting to stay it's because he knows we won't let him go and he's trying to save face.
How it was all a big misunderstanding. Cunt.
We should let him og if we get a mega offer ... fuck him

I guess the difference there its his boyhood club.. on the other hand with Torres Athletico is his... Liverpool is his second.. he came to Liverpool to win things..

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

I wouldn't have had any issue whatsoever if he'd handed the transfer request in next summer. None at all. It's the timing that has pissed me off. He loves the club and fans blah blah blah. He loves us so much he was prepared to leave us with not one proper striker at the club. Loves the club and fans my fucking arse.

Most players aren't in that sense ... but as Sheiky says above, it's the fucking timing ... he's a prick for how he did it, not that he did it (his choice).
No he's a prick THAT he did it too. Love the club, badge kissing, never gonna leave, liverpool really special, love the fans etc etc aaaaaah fuck it im going to chelsea.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

I'd have no problems if a player came out and said he wanted to leave for financial reasons. Fine. Agger for example made it clear once he sees it as a job and therefore treats it as such. I don't have a problen with that.

Don't kiss the badge though and write a book to "the best fans in the world" and so on.

I guess it depends on your ambition as a player..

Do you want to win things, or play for your boyhood club..

Shearer is another prime example of that...

The times he could of left Newcastle even for United.. but he was happy playing for his boyhood club.

Rooney went to united, because he wanted to win things... same reason why Torres came to this club..

Yes his timing is poor, very poor but I don't entirely think its all down to him.. the agents run the show...

But Stevie did it for the same reason ... they didn't think Liverpool was going in the right way ...

Stevie changed his mind because he realized it was 'Liverpool'.

I don't care what Torres does -

No-one is arguing with that. It's the apparent urgency to join a team who are on the decline and the cup they have the best chance of winning THIS season is probably the FA Cup.

Sorry but it doesn't wash with me. Leave in the summer if you want to leave to win things.
Nah. They pretty much all go for the money.
All of em. Carragher in his book basically said he threatened to leave when he didnt think the offer was right. Its always about the moolah.
No. Stevie said on live tv 'I cant leave now can I' then when he came back he was expecting a contract offer which didnt meterialise, then in the following weeks he felt as though the club wanted him gone, with no assurances from Rafa, Moores or Parry.
Im not saying he was squeaky clean but he just wanted the club to show him some love.

I guess ... I just don't want players who don't want to be here - even if they can be world class. I know this may hurt Liverpool short term if Nando goes, but fuck him ... seriously, fuck him. They're about to sign Suarez, and probably bring in more talent in the Summer, it's turning around quite obviously - and NOW you do this? Fuck off, just fuck off and enjoy chelsea's slide to mediocrity.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

The comments by Torres agent on Spanish radio is bollocks by the way. Made up shite.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

are we forgetting Stevie G flirted with the idea of joining Chelsea at least on two occasions ??

We make demands of him not the other way round. We pay the cunt 150k a week to shut the fuck up and score goals. He can kiss my white ass.

What are you talking about, top players make demands of every club. Be good or I'm gone. Except Stevie, but he's a home town lad.

Anyone who thinks that promises should be made to them by the club already thinks they are bigger than the club.
Wait a minute, a contract is a promise but it's legal. I'm sure loads of verbal promises go into EVERY contract signed. You seriously don't think a club will make a world class player any kind of promises when they sign them. Seriously?

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

What has the one who knows all and been to many consecutive games said about this?

In Tage we trust?

*Is this joke now old news?*

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

@lucasleiva87 Posted by someone on RAWK "I wish we had more players like Mr Leiva - balls of steel & the heart of a lion that guy." #agree

Fucking hell, Lucas retwitted that.
