I haven't seen it in slow motion but I largely agree that it wasn't your typical horror tackle. I might be completely wrong, but had Ramsay not broken his leg, I wonder if the Ref would have even sent him off..

I think he went to kick the ball, in fact they both did, but Shawcross seemed better positioned.

These are my initial thoughts anyway.

I don't think you are far off Squiggs, in fact I think that is pretty bang on.

I think it flashed through the ref's mind he would send him off to be on the safe side. It was something that was going to be under the spotlight and he didn't want to be labeled the soft ref who missed a horror tackle

regards

x2

Wenger loves to play thr victim card.

Some people think he has a point and Wengers babes are intimidated by the rest of the wuff boys.
I was thinking about it last night, if it is the case, and I don't think it is , perhaps he has brought it on himself by bringing attention to it

regards

Yeah. I think so. Though it wouldn't make it right.

I don't think Shawcross's tackle was malicious at all, maybe a little badly timed but not a 'leg - breaker' in the Roy Keane mould.

However, I think once the ref saw the jaunty new angle it had created in Ramsays leg, he decided 'Broken leg, Check, means leg breaking tackle, check, means red card, Check, Off you go, son'.

I don't think he ever even considered the possibility it could have been an unfortunate accident. Which is my opinion of it. And Wenger can fuck off.

Indeed he can. Of course its nice to see he conveniently disregards the years when his team had the worst disciplinary record. Red cards and yellow cards aplenty. I'm not even sure the tackle warranted a yellow. Was 50/50 from the replay I've seen.

yep, its been a horrible weekend for us results wise and we're running out of weeks.

If we finish lower than fourth - as is very possible - obviously Benitez should be sacked, but I wonder how appealing a skint club not playing in Europe will be to any top manager?

That's a retorical question, obv

I've been watching the last half an hour of the Old Firm match.

Obviously, there's tons of atmosphere, but, God, it's poor football.

0-0

Richard Dunne with one of his trademark lapses in concentration. Hopefully this isn't one of his odd nightmare games.
