It also wasn't a red despite the injury. He got the ball and the followed through into the man on a 50/50 ball.
If you "follow through into the man" then who cares if it's a 50/50 ball?

Just watched the footage. Arsenal are so concerned that the first thing Fabregas, Campbell and others do is go and tell the ref to send him off rather than seeing Ramsey.

Fuck off you cunts.

Clear yellow imo, it was only called a red because the ref had given an atrocious yellow to Alexandre Song 10 minutes before using his body to brush Delap off the ball (while Delap puled back on Song's hand mind)

Or MAYBE he saw what the result of shawrcross's challange was and thought hmmm maybe that could be classed as a leg breaking challange. ......

A message for Arsene Wenger:

Derek Dooley
Jim Beglin
David Busst
Luc Nilis
Henrik Larsson
Djibril Cisse
Djibril Cisse (again)

To name but a few off the top of my head.

I forgot it only happens to Arsenal.

Yes, yes it is.

Real are battering Teneriffe 4-1 away.

Higuain has scored two.
Kaka
Gayhead - penno

I haven't watch much Spanish football this year, but everytime I see a Real Madrid result there's always a peno involved.

Ha. They have gotten a lot of penalties this year it seems.

The one tonight was really harsh. VDV, not really in control of what he's doing, tries to play a ball into a very crowded box and it hits the defender on the arm who had no time to do anything really.

Shawcross was sent off and has been universally condemned for a "horror tackle" but it seemed to me that it was Ramsey who lunged in at Shawcross.

Still what do I know! :🙂

That doesn't look like Shawcross meant any harm at all.

I don't think he went in dirty.

An extremely unfortunate accident.

Entertaining stuff from Barca tonight, although it'd be a little bit better if they actually finished some of these chances. Malaga are extremely lucky to still be on level terms.

It's been a bit of an awkward season for Barca so far. It was always going to be tough to follow up last years achievements, but that aside they've not been performing to their usual standards for long periods and it's been hard going at times.

I think they do miss the movement and pace that Eto'o gave them up front, whilst it hasn't helped that Ibrahimovic hasn't been great in the last couple of months.

Real kinda remind me of Utd in a way. Their games are always really open affairs, but the speed and quality of their attack just means they kill off their opponents in acres of space. Barca on the other hand always find themselves having to deal with opposition parking the bus - not always easy when you're not in top form.

So I'm thinking the smart pundits (if there is such a thing) will wait a while before they bring out the "you have to be physical against Arsenal" line......

I think Shawcross was very unlucky (not quite as unlucky as Ramsey).
Fucking Wenger is a mealy mouthed twat, alright his player has broken a leg , but to call the tackle horrendous is just wrong, and to suggest that there is some sort of conspiracy that other clubs are going out to break Arsenal players legs is fucking laughable.

Has wenger ever been in trouble for spouting his shite?
He flirts with it all the time, and has had bans, but he mainly gets away with it. To suggest the rest of the prem are out to deliberately kick Arsenal players is preposterous, and in fact brings the game into disrepute

Look at Shawcross's reaction after the tackle - the lad looks mentally broken. You can tell he's not that type of player.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger
"I am not very happy with the tackle. We know what to expect from other teams but we have now lost three players in five years to horrendous tackles. I refuse to believe it's coincidence when you're hit as many times as we are. We know teams want to be physical against Arsenal - this is the result. When you see how Aaron got injured today in the way that he did, it is not acceptable. I don't accept that. We could see the team was shocked, but we go until the end because we are strong mentally and united. We will do it for Ramsey as well because he deserves it. From a mathematical side of the game it was a good day for us. But we cannot really enjoy it."
He's a right whiney cunt. There was no intent whatsoever in that tackle. What a cock.

He miscontrolled it a bit , and let it roll too far ahead then went to get a boot on it and Ramsey nipped in, he kicked his leg with the top of his foot.
Similar in someways to Jimmy Case on Nulty, although Casey's studs might have come into play :🙂

Yes and his reaction will undoubtedly stand him in good stead in the public opinion stakes over this incident, there is a certain logic to Wengers argument though. Its not that Arsenal endure these sorts of tackles every week it was more a freak accident than it was malicious but there seems to be a genuine belief that physically bullying Arsenal is 1) acceptable and 2) the way to get at them, this can only serve to encourage teams to ratchet up the physicality in their games.

When you consider the way Wolves effectively decided it wasnt worth playing Utd at old trafford so lets not bother really, the same team would go to arsenal and think, get stuck rough them up and we can get a result. You can beat any team if you kick their best players off the park, ironically Utd have done this to Arsenal on a number of occasions in the last few years.

Why do teams think Arsenal players are the only ones that dont enjoy being kicked? Ive seen Torres get into a serious sulk on occasions when he deems the ref to be not "protecting" him

Was at the Barca game tonight and that was by far some of the best football I've ever seen live, I doubt I'll see a better goal than their 2nd tonight. Messi, Xavi and Pedro were all incredible to watch. The one thing I said after the game is that Ibra is the only player that looks out of place in that team...just too slow with his feet and mind. Eto'o was definitely more suited to their style of play imo

Indeed and the ref never looked like reaching for a red card until he saw the injury either

I agree.

I can't accept that lads, I think you have been brainwashed by Wenger wingeing.
Certain teams play rough, that's the way they are, and it seems intrinsic in them, and it is sadly the only way they can compete in a competetive league. Stoke are one of those teams, but as was pointed out this was not a malicious tackle, and I didn't see any particularly rough stuff.
Blackburn and Bolton spring to mind, and they dish it out to everyone.

* :-[ edits, was doing Blackburn a diservice, they are quite near the top of the fair play league and we have more red cards than anyone....bar Sunderland....dirty reds
