I'm watching this knowing we need Chelsea to win. It's just logical.

I'm fucked if I can watch this without wanting Southampton to hand them their arses though.

For the supposed semi-invalid that he is, with hamstrings held together with limp bits of cotton, Costa has had a remarkably injury-free season. It's surely time the media stopped parroting Maureen's claims about 'nursing' him through a season and start noting he's just a perfectly fit thug who ought to be sent off a couple of times a month.

I don't know what's wrong with Sunderland. I recon Poyet is a decent manager, but this season from the beginning he looked a bit deflated and his team lacked any fighting spirit in a big contrast to last season. I think he'll be sacked soon, but they will get relegated anyway.

A lot of things haven't gone for Poyet, but he's also got to take responsibility for the squad he has right now. Besides losing Borini and Ki, two players who added fight / quality to his thin squad last season, he also lost Alonso (returned to parent club), Colback (moved to Newcastle) and Giaccherini (large part of the season to injuries). All these guys were key in their survival last season, together with a welcome late show by Wickham, but they haven't been able to make up for their loss this season.

Poyet had the opportunity to tap into the loan market, but he only has Coates and Alvarez to show from that - and they've played a combined 780 minutes. Getting Borini, Ki and Alonso worked very well for them last season, but it's like they've suddenly forgotten how to do it.

I can live with a draw. Southampton are not done dropping points yet. 6 of their last 9 games are against clubs in the relegation zone or living by the edge. They also play Spurs in the middle of that run. The City game at the end of the season will probably be academic, but that's a path with potential land mines, depending on how badly those teams want to scrap to stay in the league.

For being the second best team money can buy Chelsea are a horrific spectacle to watch. Negative, Cro-Magnon, blunt force football.

Hope Newcastle are not their usual shite today.

I guess a draw is best between Mancs and Spuds.

Looks like Spurs are hoping to emulate West Ham and help boost a rival's goal difference. Guess we can't leave the serious work to shitbag London teams.

Utd have a long spell of terrible form against easy opposition, manage to scrape the wins, then start to hit form when the harder games come along, and keep winning. I've been paranoid about that happening for ages.

They just don't seem like they're going to go away.
