Watching MOTD.

That second Man U penalty is a disgrace.

Also, there is no fucking way we would fold like cheap suits, at Anfield, if we were 3-0, against those cunts.

Mata's goal was LARGE !
Was a good goal alight, although I think Cisse's (Newcastle) one was even better
Haven't seen it yet.
You're in for a treat (ignoring the fact that you probably were hoping Newcastle would lose).

Cisse's shot went into the top corner, Mata's attempted to put his shot through DeGea.

Touche

More skill in hitting that on the volley first time into roof of net than hitting it as it comes down from the chest.

It was a nice height, he wasn't too far away from the net, and he was completely unmarked.

Although MOTD in NI has only shown the Scum game so far so I reserve the right to change my opinion once I see Cisses goal again

Cisses goal was an andy gray "what a hit son" special. Toppest of top bins. Matas goal made me loudly exclaim "OOOOOF", but cisses was class, and a fine debut goal

Re: Re: Todays Games

LOL at all the poor, self-styled philosophers desperately wishing for Liverpool to drop further behind.

Aaahh well, I'm sure there will be a a new mail out to help them deal with this unwanted intruder. Until then they're just going to have to put up with the suffering that comes with us being a little closer to 4th than they wanted.

A survey a few years ago found that more than 50% of Real and Barca fans would prefer to hear of the other losing than their own team winning. They put this down to the fact that most of these so called supporters aren't really fans of football or their teams - they simply use that tag as a justification of their hatred. I'm sure every team has such haters posing as fans of other teams - I just never expected to find them on this forum.

Not quite; nobody would be happy to see us lose further ground.
At the same time it's still annoying watching us cheer on the Mancs.

Perhaps its irrational; but fuck it, its the Mancs.
Nobody would care if it had been Arsenal or even Spurs if that result would have helped us.
You're also failing to take into account the morale boosting result like that would have for them in their title race, and more importantly, when we play them at Old Trafford.

Cheer the Mancs?
No.

It's all about priorities; some people support LFC as their second priority - priority number one is seeing the mancs get beat. For me that's not supporting LFC - it's simply a justification to hate another team.

I support LFC first and foremost. Second priority is to see every team above us in the table get beat. Third priority is to see the teams I despise the most get beat by as much and as often as possible. To be honest the mancs and chavs are top of that list so this one was more disturbing than normal but the greatest benefit to the team I support was to see the Russians drop points.

If they'd been playing Bolton, Wolves or even Everton nobody would have had a problem cheering the Chavs to a hiding. That people had an issue purely because it was the mancs demonstrates inarguably that they prioritise a mancs loss ahead of what's good for LFC. If that's the case then all good - whatever floats your boat. I'd just prefer they don't sully the reputation of the rest of us by claiming otherwise.

I kow that there's very little which could be considered rational in supporting a football team, Oncy, but seriously; your logic wouldn't hold water if it was lead lined. Nobody was cheering on the mancs - they were cheering Liverpool and praying for the Chavs to drop points. Simples.

If you want to look at things in some sort of logical perspective, then I think it can be narrowed down even further.

For Liverpool to achieve as much success as possible, and for the Mancs to achieve as little as possible.
Cheering on the Mancs yesterday will mean very little if we lose to Spurs today, and more importantly if Fergie's Heroes use yesterday's farce as a springboard from which to beat us at Old Trafford and push for the title.

Having said that, the unrestrained glee on FB at the Scum's glorious result yesterday is bad enough.
Perhaps it's not too much to hope to not have that here as well.
There's no philosophy in hating Fergie and the Mancs.
There's just hate.

This is all relative...

Hypothetically if one year, we've played all our games, topping the table...Chelsea is in second and if they get 3 points, they'd take the league. They have one game in hand and their last game is against United. And let's say the Manc is in 3rd place with no way of catching up to us. In that game, I will definitely hope the Manc will either draw or beat Chelsea.

Generally, I would not hope for the Manc to win or do well of course, but today's game, a draw was good result for us in terms of still competing for 4th, while at the same time derailing (even if it's a little bit) United's run at another title.

Nothing wrong with that.

Ginsoak: Well done, Geoff!

Yes, well done, Geoff. Keep licking.
I dont agree Wiz. I would rather we win than have to hope they stop teams above us.
As someone said, IF it meant us winning the league id wear a United kit to a drinkies, but thats about it.
If they win the league then so be it, but I wont wish them along the way.

I felt like I needed a good scrub when I cheered a bit for their third goal. I wanted someone to pull me through with a christmas tree.
