We don’t really have any kind of buffer,City will city and they're comeback will be inevitable
All we can do is win and maintain a buffer

Wouldn’t surprise me as they had just completed football. At the start of the season you'd have said they wouldn't get any lower than 45 at the midway stage......
Like Dreamy said...our buffer is gone. Two draws that should have been wins did it.City will city and they're comeback will be inevitable

Huddersfield at home, but not far off it.Like Dreamy said...our buffer is gone. Two draws that should have been wins did it.
They got drawn against Copenhagen in CL, they can play their reserves. Not sure who they're playing in the FA cup, but probably Accrington Stanley.
We can’t contend if we continue being one of the teams with the most draws in the league.
Unofficially unbeaten, but officially beaten. We're in the race now! It's stupid to say we're not.
Whether we'll win it is another thing altogether.
Two things in our favour. Klopp teams does better in the second half of a season and we're the hardest team to beat in the league (still unbeaten)
Being in the race now is meaningless imo. It’s whether we are in it in March/April.We're in the race now! It's stupid to say we're not.

We aren’t unbeaten either. City have had a disastrous first half to the season yet we are 2 points ahead. We’ve missed our chance imo.
We are losing arguably two of best players for most of Jan, are competing on all fronts still and have a truck load of injuries and will no doubt get more.
Absolutely. We are miles ahead of where I thought we’d be this season especially in terms of losses. It does feel like a big opportunity, hopefully it City do go against the norm and falter in the second half of the season it’s us and not Arsenal that win it.I know we’re not officially unbeaten but it took something completely out of the ordinary and unprecedented to beat us.
We’re still a team in transition but definitely ahead of schedule in our rebuild. It’s exciting times really. Lots to look forward to.
We are on track for 84 pts.
That won’t win the league. We need more wins.

Teams fighting relegation in the second half of the season are notoriously hard to beat. Give me mid table all day long.Bollocks are we, half way doesn't mean half points. How many of the top teams have we played away from home and how many relegation contenders do we play in the last 6 games vs how many 'easy' home games can we hope to bank. Projecting our final point sis (a) fucking pointless (b) not as simple doubling the number after 1/2 the games
Having said that I'd be pretty pleased with 84
8pts ahead they have 2 games in hand. That is proper negative,
1) being in the title race is meaningful now - because the January window is about to open and maybe we can get a player that will help us get to a certain point. Agreed that you cannot tell until March if you really are a contender. Also we are 4 points ahead of city even if they win their games in hand.
2) I think City will lose/draw to Everton later tonight. Cannot see them beating them, Everton will be well up for it considering their situation and last result.
3) I think we should see the absense of Mo/Endo in January for better or worse as an opportunity for us to assess what we will need or don't need based on the players we have and their ability to cover. I have had this theory that if Salah is not around - I think our remaining front 4 in Jota/Nunez/Gakpo/Diaz will take on more responsibility and up their game, the pressure will be on them. I am more worried about Endo leaving us with no DM cover.
Who put your nose out of joint? We're on 42 points. In 20/21 we were on 41 points at halfway point. We finished the season on 92 with city on 93. We lost two games that season and won 28 drawn 8.Unofficially unbeaten, but officially beaten.
Dont know about 2nd half of season being so great, this season feels like...the near quad season combined with the shit season we had when VVD was out. In other words we are in it but not in it at the same time...6 fucking draws says it all.
Nothings out of joint, I honestly cant tell which team is more unstable between arsenal, city and us. But I sincerely believe we have the most talented squad of all of them. So heres my problem, we dont lose but we draw loads...can you say with any cinfidence we can win these fixtures..Who put your nose out of joint? We're on 42 points. The season we finished 5th we were 28pts after 19 games.
If things pan out right, we are looking a points tally between 84-94 points. 94 points should be enough to win the league IMHO.
forget individual games! Tell me using historical data, what you think we will get points wise? Here's the table. - City at home
- Arsenal away
- United away
- chelsea at home
- Brighton at home
- Forest away
- Villa away
- Everton away
We could easily be limited to draws in the above fixtures. Its difficult to feel confident.
