We won't buy a big name, and to be honest, I'm ok with that. I'd rather get players for the long term to provide a solid Base, then add the luxury.

Last year we were dragged to 2nd by a mercurial talent, yet didn't progress further because of the overall weaknesses of the squad.

I don't want a player with mad hype behind him, its unfair to the player and to the team.

Origi already has massive amounts of pressure on him considering no one had even heard of him before the world cup. I'm so fucking glad there's no international tournament this year to torture ourselves over

I wouldn't even know who to throw 70m quid at if it was available. Is there anyone available that would make us all believe we had the next big striker?

Bit of a bummer we don't have an ace striker. All my life we've had one. Rush, Fowler, Owen, Torres, Suarez and I thought Sturridge might be it... but he's a crock and i can't see him playing that many games for us.

Mind you the last time we won a European Cup was the only season we didn't have one. Even so, I'm that self-deluded that I reckon some local 16 year old is about to break through into the first team and scoring goals for fun, despite me having no idea of what's happening at the academy outside what Hague, Macca, Pesam and Count say.

Naah, remember 2004-2007, Morientes, Baros, Crouch, Kuyt. It was a barren striker period. We've been here before.

Looks like he doesnt want to come to us;
[article=http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/manchester-united-transfer-news-lacazette-9381776]Alexandre Lacazette has hinted he could leave Lyon this summer for another Champions League club.

The French striker has been linked with a move to Manchester United after scoring 29 goals in 35 games this season.

Lyon have qualified for the Champions League group stages after finishing second in Ligue 1.

But the 24-year-old has hinted he is not certain to stay with his boyhood club - especially if the right offer comes his way.

He said: “I have not made my decision.

"I will go on holiday, leave my agent to discuss things, for him to look after all that.

“When? That is the question. I could stay at Lyon next season and have a terrible season, I could leave and have an incredible season.

“Everything depends on the destination. It would have to be for a Champions League club.

But today, between leaving and staying, it is not 50-50. It is zero. I am not thinking about it. I am going to enjoy the national team and I will think about it after.”

Lacazette, who is under contract until 2018 after signing an extension at the beginning of the season, has scored 51 league goals in 139 games since making his debut in 2010.

He made his international debut for France in 2013 and has scored once in six games for his national team.[/article]

We had Reus rumours only last year.

Don't worry. The same absolute weapons are still spreading those rumours.
That Connor Wilson is a know nothing, bell whiff. I'm blocked by Indy Kaila for referring to him as click whore. Every cloud I suppose.

The owners do not need to spend money on a Marquee signing to "give the fans a lift". It's a term used by morons who think 'big money = exciting player' and I've seen nobody mention it other than you in this title thread.

The owners do need to address their failings from last year. By this I mean they need to find and spend money on a striker who best matches the way Rodgers wants to set up.They've got Ings, Origi and Sturridge and then a load of shite. None of it can be relied upon to net 15-20 goals in the league.
