Roy becomes the first manager in Liverpool history to get knocked out by a team from league two.

This season has started well hasn't it?!
We were knocked out by non-league Worcester City in 1959. That's lower than League 2 or the old Div 4.

Sauce?

I've seen Spion on the laptop; I wouldnt quibble over his research, Kris. ;D

I think the really fucking hard to digest bit from last night in terms of team selection was starting with Cunt 1 and the Oompa Loompa and then leaving them both on while Shelvey sat watching.

From my limited knowledge of these things, I've seen the former two play enough to know that they're never going to be good enough. At least Shelvey looks like he's got a chance of being really good. Last night was a perfect chance to see what he can do. Chance = blown.

I assumed KHL was joking actually. Worcester? Sauce/source? Oh, nevermind.

Hodgson is the least ambitious appointment we have made in my lifetime as a fan, he is also the only manager in my lifetime who has joined the club with zero money to spend and a club in real turmoil.

Does that make him the worst manager?

To early to say im afraid, i doubt it.

I take your point about the club being left in turmoil but I don't think that a performance like last night's can possibly be blamed upon the owners or any lack of funds.

In all seriousness dantes, I don't think you can sack a new manager after 5 Premiership games. We'd look like divvies.
roy would have to go on the worst run in liverpool's history to get sacked midseason. liverpool don't sack managers midseason.
It is a reason for that. We have not been lower than 8, normally top four for the last 50 years. We dont sack managers guiding us there do we? However that should not be the reason for not sacking a manager if things just doesnt work out?

Ah yes, I didnt see that..

I know it as Worcestershite sauce though.

Or as we call it in Malaysia : Wore-chest-ter-shy-err sauce ;D

what will be interesting is if the close changes hands before the end of the season. will the new owners stick with roy until the end of the season or get rid asap and get their own?

I agree it doesnt excuse the performances so far, i just think we need to move on and have some good news for once. Perhaps in a way Roy being so honest with his press remarks etc has been the wrong thing and he should have been more optimistic verbally perhaps and raised a few hopes and expectations... i didnt see last night but it is not accpetable and shows perhaps a malaise at the club.

We may not have finished lower than 8th but we've certainly been temporarily lower than that in the league. Not long after the start of Kenny's first season as player-manager we found ourselves in a similar position with a MASSIVELY stronger squad.

Roy's got to get till the end of the season IMO - unless of course new owners arrive and want their own man in, which they might well have done anyway and almost certainly will now.

Despite N'Gog's shortcomings though DSE, he still scored (again), Babel has infuriated time and time again. People moan he needs chances and then he turns up for games where it's on a plate for him to step up and he fails to do it time and time again.

I saw some blurt yesterday on here saying that he'd play Agger and The Greek ahead of Skrtel, well there's your outcome.
Think it was rage or zlatan.
Not me, i say Skrtel/Agger should be our CB partnership

still think that agger and the greek will make an effective cb pairing until we buy a more mobile player that's good in the air.

but then this blurt already knows that grandpa is way out of his depth as well.

no idea why brenden bothered with a question mark in his title.

Where do you get the energy from? It's quite remarkable. Did you ever see that thread on est that turned into the Brendan hate fest? It was superb.

I quite enjoyed typing that. Maybe it's time to stop lurking so much.

Ha - I knew it was all about the publicity.

It was a couple of months ago - I'll see if I can find which one it happened in.

actually it's not as bad as I remember it but it still makes me chuckle that it took that thread on something of a tangent presumably by a few who had been scarred

Didn't we have those smileys once?

As for the wittering Wendies on there, they'd last about a nanosecond here. Disappointed in Shaggy, who was good fun when he visited this place.

I don't hold or owe much loyalty to Hodgson, but I'd be pretty appalled if the club didn't give him at least one season, regardless of if we get new owners.
Why? The cliche 'There are no guarantees.....' comes to mind.

If we are still in the bottom half in December, what is the point of keeping him till the end of the season?

If we find that he is not able to handle the job, he should be sacked.....why give him a full season before sacking him? What do we achieve in doing that?

I'm confident the situation will not arise and things will soon pick up, but I still wouldn't be comfortable with the idea. Sacking a manager after one season is unheard of in the time I've followed the club, so one being shown the door after a few months would be unthinkable.

Decisions like that are always made in the summer. It's how we operate, and how we should continue to do so.
