Roy becomes the first manager in Liverpool history to get knocked out by a team from league two.

This season has started well hasn't it?!
We were knocked out by non-league Worcester City in 1959. That's lower than League 2 or the old Div 4.
Yes. Mind you we were in the 2nd division in those days

Its been a fairly abject start to Roys tenure.
There are a number of mitigating factors, but to go out to Northampton without a whimper is pretty shameful.

"We wanted to do well in the Carling Cup and we haven't. We were given a fairly kind draw if you look at the other teams we could have drawn. If you get a team from three leagues below you, you're expect to win and when you don't win, then you can expect to be criticsed from the top downwards.

"We must all take responsibility and I am bitterly disappointed that the team I had so much faith in did not repay that faith this evening, with the exception of one or two."

We moved to Worcester about two years after that happened. I was only 7 then, so when other kids at school told me about it I thought they were having me on.

Stockport came damn close to doing something similar to us in our glory days though. That was 2-2 at Anfield as well. Fortunately we put things right in the replay.

we didn't sack rafa last year and missed 4th. this situation is no different. the manager is acting like a fucking retard, the warning signs are all there. we're losing. we're playing bad. his team selections and tactics are indicative of the onset of dementia.

but no. just like this drooling fuck waits until the 90th minute to make a sub, we'll be no different and wait until the end of the season before realising the manager isn't good enough.

In all seriousness dantes, I don't think you can sack a new manager after 5 Premiership games. We'd look like divvies.

Of course we can't and we won't.

But if we are not witnessing a rapid change in both our style of play and points gained soon he could be in trouble already come Christmas. Have we actually ever sacked a manager only six months in?

Hopefully we'll start to win games now and then we'll all be laughing come Chrimbo, shaking our heads and LOL at the mere thought of firing Roy back in October.

The fans will snap after the match with Everton if things do not improve.

I doubt it'd happen even then, not when the board dug in their heels over appointing him in preference to Kenny.

Mind you, Roy himself did say to judge him after ten games. At this rate that judgment's not going to be favourable.

Oh join in Brendan, you know you want too!

Anything to lift the Gloom!

Anyway is Roys new name Adam Faith? (are you old enough to remember the tv programme he stared in?)

Ummmm, I have seen clips of it. Budgie? No idea what it was about, but I'm guessing a cockney lothario lay-about, a bit like a TV version of Alfie?

Yeah there were Budgie Jackets and a Budgie Haircut too, I don't think Roys going to start a trend though.

Funny his best song was.

"What do you want if you don't want money" We'd settle for a win Roy!
