The Value of Sterling still dropping ?

I'd take him on loan, pay the £100k wages we originally offered him, then keep him on the bench. The press will soon ask for an explanation, and we can snidely question his application and attitude off the pitch, patronize his ability, talk about the aspects of his game he needs to work more on, and point to Lucas as an example of what he should aspire to be. Hmmm I kind of miss Gerard Houllier, he was peerless in these situations.

Sterling has a great short-burst of acceleration, impressive balance and good strength for his stature. This has been the case pretty much since he broke through. What is also true, is that he has poor shooting ability and a questionable attitude.

He has trained and played with some world class players over his career to date, but his output remains largely unchanged and his shooting has not really improved. He has some fundamental flaws in his game and I think the longer it goes on, the clearer it becomes that they are just part of who he is as a player.

I think Liverpool robbed Man City with the fee, the club should feel rightly pleased with the deal in the end. Sterling could go the way of Shaun Wright-Phillips if he isn't careful.

I reckon he'll end up back home in Laannddaann with West Ham or someone in a year or two.

City just signed Gabriel Jesus aswell.
Sterling might find himself on the bench a lot next season.

I'd rather sign him and sell Lallana and Markovic.
He'd be a good fit in Klopps team and tactics.

No thanks. He made his bed.

The more he rots there, the better example he provides to our players who might start thinking the grass is greener.

That said, he's getting £100,000 a week more than we were willing to pay, so I doubt he's that arsed about the prospect of being on the bench.

If we ignore the horrible actions of his agent, and simply look at the facts, it's not that despicable that he wanted a move to City.

They're a better squad with more money, far more ambitious owners, a higher likelihood to win trophies, much better wages and everyone knew Pep was joining.
If you also factor in the dismal last season we had under Rodgers, it's not a difficult decision

Who wouldn't want to join them?

I do think we would have had a much better chance of keeping him if Ward wasn't his agent, and Klopp had come in earlier (he admitted as much himself)

Two Jesus' in the same team?

Most of would jump anywhere if someone offered to double our wages, regardless of circumstance. I don't hold any personal resentment, but I also wouldn't be in favor of him returning. The wages we offered were about right for his level of talent at the time and there's no reason for him to take a drop now. The principle of bailing an ex-player out of a hole after they've left us in acrimonious circumstances is not something I'd like to see at this club. I resented the links to Owen after he left us and the same would be true of Sterling.

Told you all - he is too small to last long in the PL. Think he has 2 more years before ending up at Stoke.

Too small, moron? What about the likes of Aguero, Silva, Zola, Eriksen, Mane, Kante, Cazorla, Ozil et al?

They're all 'small'

And Sterling has impressive upper body strength which means he isn't easily knocked off the ball

Oh yes he is. His legs are too thin. He is not gonna last and the other players you mention have very strong trunk like legs. Players of Sterlings ability and build wont last in this league.

Ah. It's his thin legs that are the problem. He should do some muscle building leg exercises so that he gets 'tree trunk' legs like Ozil, Hazard, Eriksen and Silva

Surely other clubs and forums don't have this rate of spastic.
It's absolutely mental on here.

It's more the frequency of posts from the same spastics, and is probably more noticeable given how few there actually are in reality

I've always thought Moron and Arn were parodies of some sort. Either normal humans operating parody SCM accounts or some sort of deity operating parody human being accounts.

I fear the truth is rather more prosaic, if terrifying and depressing: they're real.

I know. Sorry.

Definitely have him back at 25-30 million as long as the wages are reasonable. Issue is the relationship with Ward. If he comes back and starts playing decently again, Ward will start hawking him around to Barca and Bayern and start demand wage parity with Messi.

It'll be interesting to see how he fares this season. This will be the first time he'll have to contend with genuine competition for his spot.
