Anton Stach doing the mills, DM from Mainz....couple caps for Germany, apparently they'd accept an offer as low as £20m.

King Binny - Need your help with this 1.

Guys, can I ask why we are not in for Youssef Foffana of Monaco ? Have any of you seen any rumours ?

Mainz’s Anton Stach earns first Germany call-up for March international friendlies
[article]Mainz midfielder Anton Stach has been given his first senior call-up for Germany in Hansi Flick’s 26-man squad for March’s international friendlies against Israel and the Netherlands.

Stach, 23, only has five caps at youth level, earning them as Germany won the UEFA European U21 Championship last summer.

His senior nomination comes on the back of a breakout campaign with Mainz, making 21 Bundesliga appearances for the club since joining from Greuther Fürth at the start of the season.

A holding midfielder who came through the Werder Bremen youth system, Stach has helped the 05ers create a formidable defensive setup that has only conceded eight goals in 13 home games this season. That’s four fewer than any other Bundesliga team. He has also contributed at the other end with a goal and three assists.

There is also a first call-up in five years for former Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl.

The March games are Germany’s first fixtures of the year, which culminates in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Wow, doesn't stack up too badly at all although his passing stats are ridiculously low for someone who plays as a DM.

Cant believe this, I think our club is now trying to take it out on the fans. Its the only thing that makes sense, we should go in amd just pay the release clause now, these players are not gonna wait around. We know we cannot negotiate anymore, so a release clauses are our only hope.

Why do PSG need him if they bought Ugarte?

And if Bayern get Sangare does that mean Gravenbach is available?

We won’t sign a DM. Just watch. Not a decent one anyway.
Maybe an up and coming CB for tuppence halfpenny.

We will, that's obvious. We might get a bit desperate and fuck up a few more negotiations along the way but we'll get 1. The £110m was no hoax, we were really prepared to do that deal, would make no sense now to back out all other options.

It's just who that person will be, none of us know.

i know he's not a DM but could he be moulded into one? or a Gini like mobile 6/8

I think that may be an option. @rurikbird had him down as "Jack of all trades" type of midfielder

Tactically versatile

Ajax, coached by Erik ten Hag, normally play with a 4-3-3 formation, which sometimes becomes a 4-2-3-1. In the 4-3-3, Gravenberch finds his place as a left-sided mezzala, although it is not uncommon to see him switching position and moving to a ‘6’ role. When Ajax play with a 4-2-3-1, Gravenberch plays on the left of the double pivot.

He's not worth the 80m quoted no.

Problem we have now is clubs know we have that to spend.

Thats’s the market now though isn’t it - £80m for Doucoure is about right.

If Sanagre is off to Bayern, then it might open up Gravenberch - Bayern would likely sell if we effectively fund their Sangare move - but I’d be a little concerned about Gravenberch due to him not having a particularly good season in Germany - does ask the question of whether he’s good enough.

Guys, the way I am reading it is that we seem to be desperate to only buy players with PL experience, I am sorry but for a DM, I just don't understand how that is relevant ? - a DM's role and experience is not creative, its primarily a build of experience through situational awareness to stop opposition attacks getting to the last line of defence. You telling me that players who have played such a role in other top European leagues for a number of years don't have that experience ? - its fucking bollox absolute bollox. Just buy a fucking DM - I will be pissed if we don't sign Sangare in the next few days as he is the only one with a release clause we can definitely afford and take a risk on.

I think Klopp has lost a bit of his mojo when it comes to signings - I really do. He himself has become risk averse, we knew as a club as soon as we bid for Caicedo and fucked of Lavia we were not going to get any of them. Did we spend any time trying to convince them - maybe ? - but debateable. That fucking old fucker we hired should have been on the phone across the world lining up DM's like a line of cocaine - he should be fucking sniffing DM's when he is having a fucking dump.

If we don't sign a DM, we will lose games consistently from what we saw against Chelsea. For the record - I think we will lose against Bournemouth on Saturday regardless.

No - we should not be funding Sangare for Bayern -we should be buying him. This is a bad move.

Generally when you’re convinced we should be buying someone, the opposite tends to be true…. Although he was Eredivisie Player of the month in November 2021!!!!!

I’m teasing you a little bit.

I’ve no idea whether Sangare is any good, but the fact he turns 26 in a few months and hasn’t been on the radar much, having spent all his time in “lesser” leagues before does raise a couple of flags that need answering.

Bayern & PSG being interested in signing him doesn’t necessarily override those concerns.

He feels like a “cheap option” but not necessarily a “good option” - in the same way Amrabat also does.
