I disagree…one more before season kicks off but another 1-2 before the window slams shut.We will sign 1 more player

I don't know if that's a smart move or a stupid move.I'm guessing we're gambling on clubs lowering their demands as we get closer to the window slamming shut. Risky.
This is a pivotal summer and season. We need to get back into the CL and hopefully see a genuine team emerge from this group of players.
I’m not sure they do either…I don't know if that's a smart move or a stupid move.
My top reds are gathered in climate controlled fridges.
And your lesser ones in the closet.
All valid points, mate. But is Lavia the transformative defensive midfielder that Kanté, Fernandinho, Fabinho and Rhodes were? We seem not to think so if we’ve dragged this one for so long and me thinks there’s another one in the works. Like last year, though, we’ve likely left it too late.
Whenever we’re linked with a player, most of the fanbase treat that player as the next big thing with the usual “… just pay the *expletive* however many millions …”
And while we’re at it, we have some familiar and more concerning problems at the back.
If we have money to sign only one player and if that player is available, i'd rather we focus on the RB position first, because i can foresee teams salivating at the thought of exploiting that weak side (again) when the season starts. You know it's coming and binomial/bluebell and chums will be creating threads after threads ranting about TAA, RB, etc. x 100000. I don't know what will be worse.
Plus might as well play Trent at his fav position in midfield. No point keeping him at RB where he's not the happiest.
Well, obviously we do need a specialist DM, but i did say if we only can get one player, which is quite likely, given the history of how we've been operating in the transfer market the last few seasons...and if i've got to choose between a DM or a RB, RB would be the main priority for me.
Because i think Badger, Curtis and Thiago (quoting Modo), can do the job well enough until we finally get that DM.
However, that would obviously also pose another risk and i.e. if all 3 get KO-ed.
But weighing both sets of pros and cons, I'd still focus on fixing that RB position first. But that's just me.
If we start the season with Badger, Curtis, Thiago as our DM options, welcome to another season of fighting to get into Europa league position. Unless Badger (whom I rate) turns out to be a world class Busquets level talent with infinite energy and zero injury concerns.
Lavia will be here in a couple of days. I would just chill.
Tbh, i dont think we'd fare much better either if we don't fix that RB position pronto.
Do you think TAA would remain as RB if we get Lavia ? or will he play better as RB than last season ? What you reckon ?
I agree that we're still going to sign him, it's just a bit galling that we've decided to potentially go in to the season with 1 19 year old DM, with a 18 year old as back up in stefan.
It's fucking madness
Palinha would be a good option actually, if the price is not exorbitant.
The whole of Europe, Africa, South America and we’re so fucking obsessed with clubs like Southampton and Fulham. What actually is our fucking problem?
And if his shoulder wasn't broken
Palinha would be a good option actually, if the price is not exorbitant.
That would be reminiscent of the time Spurs sold. Sheringham, publically announced they thought he was too old and wanted someone younger, and then signed Les Ferdinand who was the same age and double the price.Palinha would be a good option actually, if the price is not exorbitant.
