Stevie won’t like this post.
It’s fair, but one part of it, that’s selective in its use of stats - we’ve played 2 more games than them, one of which is a league game, and if you look at the distribution of minutes per players, it’s very similar load per player.
That’s the same if you apply it just one Premier League.
Our players with the most minutes are Virgil, Mo & Gravy, there’s is Salibs, Gabriel & Partey.
The thing that sticks out is our top 3 players have played a little more than there top 3 and we haven’t utilised players like Endo, Harvey & Chiesa as much as they’ve utilised the likes of Zinchenko & Sterling, while Quansah has played as much as Kiwior in the league.
So, I’m not fully buying into this scheduling thing - something doesn’t add up right there for rest days as we’re literally talking about 2 games, one of which 90% of the main team didn’t play.
I’d love to know who decided to play the Villa game this week.
If you dive into the figures you start to see a pattern where we’re not rotating key players as much as other teams or more importantly spreading the range of substitutes - Mo is a prime example, he rarely gets subbed off.
So, this is partly self inflicted - we should be bringing on the likes of Endo, Chiesa and Harvey more, that’s a managerial decision and not to do with fixture loads.
