We've been linked with Lee Chung Yong from Bolton today. Who will be the link of the day tomorrow ?

Great. Another link with a player who doesn't fill me with hope.

Ok, I know we're not going to be attracting any big names, but fuck....

Andy Heaton@Andrew_Heaton
Vegard Forren, young Norwegian centre half, booked in for a medical tomorrow apparently

Was linked with the bitters a few days ago:

Seems quite highly rated. Hopefully it means that Rodgers isn't happy with what he's seeing from Skrtel and Agger.

I hope it's true for that reason alone, we need a bit more dominance in there, hopefully we'll be looking at a DM too.

Wiki.... Vegard Forren signed for Liverpoolfor £4.2million after passing a medical. Forren will wear the number 4 shirt which has been left Vacant after the departure of loan signing Nuri Sahin.

Career

Forren was discovered by Molde FK when they met KIL/Hemne in the first round of the Norwegian football cup. KIL/Hemne surprisingly won the match 3-1, with Forren and two other young players impressing highly. They were afterwards invited to trial for Molde in a junior tournament.[1] Shortly after Forren signed a 5 year deal with Molde.[2] He took Tippeligaen with storm and European clubs as A.C. Milan, Newcastle,[3] Liverpool[4] and Hoffenheim,[5] have watched him playing forMolde FK. But Forren said that he will stay in Molde FK for a while, even though his dream is to play in a bigger European league one time. He said that he was still young and have a long career in front of him. He was also linked with Lazio[6] and F.C. Copenhagen.[7]
After winning the Norwegian league with Molde in 2011, Molde rejected two offers from Club Brugge in December 2011.[8]
On 14th January 2013, Vegard Forren signed for Liverpoolfor £4.2million after passing a medical. Forren will wear the number 4 shirt which has been left Vacant after the departure of loan signing Nuri Sahin.

24 , older than i expected .

what are our norwegian fans saying about him ?

That youtube clip suggests he's an Agger-type of player.
I thought we'd be looking for a dominant type of player. Doesn't look very tall either.

He may end up being a new Sami, or he may become a new Kvarme. Fuck knows. I'd love us to take all these 4 mill, 6 mill, 9 mill and 12 mill signings and spend that in one go on a world-class player or two. Will never happen under these owners.

It was Kenny and Commoli's choice not to buy great players. Not the owners.

And adding one top talent isn't enough for us right now

I'm just saying I would like us to have more ambition than buying potential all the time. And I'll tell you what, if we put one world-class player in that midfield we would be a shitload better off. The owners have had their fingers burnt with huge deals for players on both sides of the pond. They wont be doing that again, but I don't trust our scouts or our management team to buy the right players for piddling money to make us great again.
