I dont think Torres was just sulking about the shambles of a team he was left in i think he knew his injuries had fucked him and he couldnt handle it. I cant remember the last time that fella smiled and i cant remember the last time he outpaced and outmuscled a defender to score an outrageous goal.... his ability in conjunction with his ambition have left him miserable and i have little sympathy.

He was a really fucking great player, it must be tough to take.
 
Was just about to post similar - last I heard rumours in Dutch press of Assaidi to Ajax on loan but nothing confirmed?

On the contrary, I've made it perfectly clear that that's not what I'm saying. I do suspect the bulk of his problems are in his mind rather than physical in nature, but I couldn't have been clearer about accepting that physically he's not the player who left us.

A chunk of Cole's aswell. It'd be interesting to see the salary differences between last year and this year with Maxi, Kuyt, Bellamy, Aquilani, Carroll, Spearing and Adam leaving during the summer.
 
So some of the sunday rags are running with us making a late bid for sneijder . Bullshit or could we really be in for him ?

For the transfer price mentioned you'd surely have to be interested but i guess the problem is wages . I'd be tempted to try and make a deal , it could be a massive boost and statement of intent . He's 28 so shouldn't be past his best for the type of player he is .

I also dont understand why/how non of the big clubs has come in for Schneider, it makes me think that he must actually be astronomically expensive but then again he is certainly a star player. I would fucking LOVE it if we signed him. I would have thought he would grace near any team.

And, yes, he is on huge wages at Inter (rumoured to be 200,000+ a week).

It's the main reason he didn't go to the Scum when they were in for him.

And that was a couple of years ago. He's now 28 etc, blah blah !

Inter are on the hook for some if those wages over the length of the contract, the wages might not be that much of an issue. The problem is he's had an up and down career, and without having watched what's going on with Inter and not having seen him play recently you have to wonder why they want rid.

yeah i'd agree he's been hot and cold over his career plus i'm not sure where'd he'd fit in for us but you'd still have to be tempted . I thought Inter's main reason for selling was they can't afford his contract anymore and asked him to take a paycut which he refused to do so they have frozen him out .

Great for Ajax, never really played for Madrid - but was solid, and excellent for Inter bar the last 18 months.
 
Anelka close to signing a short term deal at PSG. Gameiro looks likely now.
If we pull it off its a great signing!
 
Noticed a few reports that we are looking to highjack Wesley Sneijders move to Galatasaray. He would be worth the risk if he is willing to take the pay cut to 100,000 per week as suggested Gala are offering. Might be hampered if we cannot shift Joe Cole from his astronomical wages, around the same ball park, I expect.
