The not so Official January Transfer Rumour Thread

Its Arda not to believe Turan will be a target again - for the tenth transfer window in a row.

Ouch, Hansern. 😀

He's already been spoken about in the press, yet again. Whether he's ever really been a target is another matter.

They're a team on the rise and playing great football. I doubt any of their main players will be leaving in this window.

Hahaha, I've never done any of those puns. Although I'm 2-3 years to late, I though f... It.. 🙂

Fucks sake, why can't we have some 'real' links with the likes of Wanyama, Zaha, Mertens, Aubameyang, Belhanda etc.

Tom Ince and Di Santo. 😡

I did some research for you Mr. Mish:

Pesam on Butland:

Oct 30: "Then, we offer Sheffield United £2m for their 18 year old keeper George Long (who IMO will prove to be better than Butland who Birmingham want £12m for!) and we'll be sorted."

Aug 22: "He makes way too many mistakes for us to contemplate spending £7m on him. I'm not going to totally write him off yet but he could be another Scott Carson."

Aug 1: "I agree, I saw Butland 3 times last season when he was on loan at Cheltenham and he made mistakes in each game, 2 of his mistakes led to goals. He was certainly nowhere near as impressive as Hart was at that age and at that level."

May 27: "Jack Butland is playing in goal for Cheltenham (on loan from Birmingham) and amazingly he is now in the england squad for the Euro's. I say amazingly because I have seen him a few times this season and I can't say I've been impressed. If he is 3rd choice it makes you realise how few decent english keepers there are at present."

He does make mistakes but how many goalkeepers are playing first team football at that age? Not many.

He has shown a lot of promise, I mean lot of promise for his age. Hart still makes clangers and 2 years ago was making a ton of them. Whether this area should be a priority is another question but Reina does need some serious competition, something he hasn't had since he has been at Liverpool.

According to Pannu it could be a fee of 4-6 mill. Thats okay for a possible future England GK.

Like Pesam, I've seen him a few times and he has been a bit errorprone. That is a bit of a concern, but I remember the Brazil game from the Olympics were he made some fantastic saves.
His shot stopping is very good and I like the fact that he's a big lad. 6"5.

How is his distribution? Does he take aimless punts in the air does he start attacks like how Rodgers likes his keepers to do?

I hope Rodgers/the owners don't try to rectify our current state by tossing £5m here and there on filling holes with maybes.

Joe Cole is requesting a £3.6m pay-off from Liverpool to quit the Merseyside club in January.

The former Chelsea and West Ham midfielder joined the Reds in 2010 but has failed to make an impact at Anfield – with just 42 appearances in his two-and-a-half year spell at the club – and spent last season on loan at French side Lille.

Cole is now seeking a move away from Liverpool, with both QPR and Reading circling, but is demanding a £3.6m pay-off with 18 months still remaining on his contract.

The 31-year-old, whose contract is currently worth around £100,000 a week, is unlikely to be offered more than £30,000 a week from either of his prospective suitors and wants Liverpool to help make up the shortfall, with Brendan Rodgers keen to get him off the club’s wage bill.

Should an agreement be reached to terminate Cole’s contract, the midfielder would be free to sign for another club when the transfer window opens on Tuesday, with relegation-threatened duo QPR and Reading the frontrunners for his signature.

Galling as this is, you can't exactly blame him. The fault lies elsewhere.

Cue minor melt-down....

We've known that he is costing us 20 billion trillion pounds a year. Just add it to the long list of wasted dosh wasted oppertunities and general fuck ups that have led us to being what we are today, a mid- table club making every excuse we can to hide from the truth which is that we are mostly shit.

I don't blame him one bit JJ. There were 2 parties to the contract he signed, if we, in our wisdom decided he was worth that massive contract then we should honour it. He could have gone elsewhere but he didn't and now that it hasn't worked out it means we literally pay the price.

Just very very sad.

How many players have WE paid to get rid off the last couple seasons?

Jesus Christ it's wrong but at the same time right.

In the echo its saying Moyes is wanting a striker in the january transfer the greedy twat, he's got plenty
