I wouldnt worry just yet. Given that we only own 4 of those players.

well yeah, amazingly i am sort of aware of that ....i was working more off those Smith quotes and on who Rodgers has admitted are our targets (dempsey and allen) and wondering if bought would that 6 be good enough for our aims or have a balance in terms of skills and attributes .

If Lucas gets back to his best almost immediately and any new signings hit the ground running, I reckon that's a decent front six. Those are big "ifs" though, the Lucas one especially, given the seriousness of his original injury. The quality is there in that line-up but it would take time to reach its peak.

Dont you worry about Wonderman JJ. He will be fine.
Lucanium is strong. Lucanium is good.

And Gerrard has suffered terribly with injuries the last 18 months.

But that's where the great Jonjo comes in!!

if your talking a front six of lucas, allen, gerrard , suarez, borini , dempsey.......is that really that good ? i mean beyond the aim of 4th would it be good enough to eventually challenge or have we given up on that completely ?

Creative outlets Suarez and Gerrard but I don't think it's enough.
If our right wing forward was Jovetic/Ramirez/Belhanda I'd be happy.

We will be lucky to be top 6 if thats the front 6 on the 1st September.

its good enough for op 6, borini has the potential to be very good in the central role, lucas will be great again, unless the injury really fucked him up, gerrards got at least one great season in him, dempseys the only weak link, oh and allen will do his job ok

Agree with this especially Jovetic. Other possible right wing forwards - Sturridge, Adam Johnson and Walcott.

But I do want to see more of Suso he looks the nuts!! is he a wing forward? looked like he played there for spain U19s or is he more of a centre attacking midfielder?

More of a deep lying central midfielder for Spain.
But he can play behind the striker or on the wing. But it's not his best position. He should be in the middle.

Selfish, trickster and sprinter. No, no, no....
Suarez is selfish to 😉, all add pace which is what we need most IMO and they all like to run directly at the full back pegging them back which again we don't currently have except Suarez. Still my favourite has to be Jovetic he's just like Suarez flair and goals which I love.

Jovetic would be the perfect player.

Hopefully he gets some time there then. I do think we're quite strong in midfield though Lucas, Gerrard, Aquilani, Adam, Spearing, Henderson and Shelvey not to mention possibly getting Allen.

Borini will be playing as a wing forward, Rodgers has emphasised how good Borini is in an attacking wide position so it pretty much confirms it. Suarez will play down the middle. It's worth remembering we'll even have Andy Carroll in that line up or another player in the £15m-£20m region so it will be improved a little more. It won't challenge the top three, but our team would tussle with Arsenal and Spurs.

I wouldn't say strong. We've got a lot of players there but I don't think it's that strong.
There's still question marks surrounding Shelvey's ability, Gerrard and Lucas's fitness, Aquilani staying and Allen joining. So it has the potential to be strong, but for now it's a bit meh.

All the lads dreaming of Neymar, well meet William McLaren. Apologies for not posting the article from my phone.

William McLaren claims Liverpool have offered him a three-year contract

Liverpool are believed to have offered a contract to a Brazilian teenager after using an internet-based scouting program to discover youngster William McLaren.
William was brought to the attention of Liverpool scouts after his video appeared on the website 'Pnera', an internet-based project aimed at discovering talented teenagers.

The 15-year-old has now given an interview to Brazilian website globoesporte.com, revealing that he has been handed a contract by Liverpool, while he also claims there is interest from other Premier League clubs.
"A representative of Liverpool came to see me play, liked it and sent the contract," William told the Brazilian publication. "Other teams are also interested: Manchester, Chelsea and Arsenal. We'll see what happens."

The report claims that William has been handed a three-year contract by Liverpool and that he will travel to England on Saturday with his family in order to make a decision on his future.
The teenager would certainly not be the first youngster brought to the Premier league with little experience as Manchester United signed Raphael and Fabio Da Silva when they were both 17, while Chelsea plucked Lucas Piazon from Brazil when he was the same age.
William has previously had the opportunity to train with Sao Paulo but it seems his heart is set on a move to Europe where he believes he will have better opportunities to live up to his reputation as a young Neymar.
"My idol is Neymar," added William. "I've followed him since he was 14 years old, I knew he would be ace. They say I'm like him because of the speed, dribbling and passing. They put me to play in attack, but I prefer playing in the middle where I can play the ball quickly."
There has been no official announcement from Liverpool but new boss Brendan Rodgers is seemingly ready to put some faith in the youth players after handing starts to a number of academy graduates in the recent pre-season friendly against Toronto FC.

  • Reports from Spain claim that Brazil international Kaka could be on his way to the Premier League after being told by Jose Mourinho that he is not in his plans at Real Madrid for the coming season.
