The former Holland international Clarence Seedorf has joined the Brazilian side Botafogo on a two-year-deal.
The Surinam-born 36-year-old, who ended a 10-year spell at Milan this summer and had reportedly been interesting the Premier League side West Ham, has been given what Botafogo claim is the most lucrative deal ever handed out to a foreign player in Brazil.
The club announced the deal in a statement which read: "Botafogo have formalised a contract with the Dutch midfielder Clarence Seedorf, who is 36.
"Seedorf has signed a deal for two years with Botafogo."
It continued: "It is the biggest contract for a foreigner made by a Brazilian football club."
Rio de Janeiro-based Botafogo sit eighth in the Campeonato Brasileiro with three wins from six matches.

damn ! Would have loved him here .

In fairness ,i do respect him for trying something completely different even if it is just for the last few yrs of his career . More players should do things like this or chance their arm in south america , even if the wages are a bit less .

Did Rodgers agree not to sign Swansea players?? I'm bemused - most reports when he became manager said he'd agreed not to go back and sign Swansea players. Now he's being linked with Sinclair etc. Have the reporters just forgotten, or was the original claim wrong?

Maybe it's bs because no team has shown any interest in signing Reina?
Also I can't think of any top team in Europe who are in desperate need of a keeper.

What about the top teams in Italy?
Maybe he would fancy going to Athletico and play there like his Dad.
Courtois is only on loan there.

True but he's been great for them and they have him for another year.
Even if Pepe is off I am not sure if Lloris is the answer anyhow.
That young keeper at Borussia Monchengladbach is supposedly shit hot.
Anyone know much about him?

Rumours that we have got Jovetic ahead of Chelsea for £22m coming from Chelsea sites.
Reckon it's shite myself

It's Marc something ain't it? Stegen?

He's meant to be very very promising

according to...wikipedia...we have signed jovetic!
If this is true, I promise I'll never say a bad word about any one in the club again. Except Adam and Downing of course.
Man I've wanted us to sign this kid since I saw him play against us in the CL.
I think I'm gonna cry....

Apparently it's hoax. Fiorentina reportedly rejected a £25 Million offer from Chelsea.
Why should they accept £22 Million from us?
Damn....

Liverpool are reported to have pipped Chelsea to the signing of Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic after agreeing a £22m fee.

Chelsea appeared to be in the box seat to land the 22-year-old as Roberto Di Matteo looks to sign a top quality striker this summer but reports coming from Italy claim Liverpool have nipped in to agree a deal.
Fiorentina are willing to let the striker go at the right price and while Chelsea have been haggling over the fee, Liverpool have come in and matched the valuation straight away.
It was thought that Fiorentina would hold out for £25million but it looks as though they have accepted slightly less and the player could be heading to Anfield.
Chelsea will still have a chance to match that offer and then it will be down to the player to decide where he will be playing his football next season.

Ter Stegen. I like him. Good shot stopper and extremely comfortable with the ball at his feet. He's only 20 and has been with Monchengladbach since he was 4. Signed a new deal before xmas last year that brings him to 2015. Time will tell how good he becomes but he was very imposing any time I saw him last season.
