all order: Berlusconi Jr. wants to convince his dad to sign Carroll for Milan (Picture: Getty Images)
Yet Berlusconi Jr. believes Milan should get the cheque book out this summer, and start with a deal for Liverpool's £35 million powerhouse Carroll, who impressed for England at Euro 2012.
'This is a new era for Milan. We will continue to get younger while maintaining the culture. Milan still has its superstars. As a future target I'd like Andy Carroll,' Pier Silvio Berlusconi announced.
'I must admit that for his body build, and after seeing his header in the Euros, I would like to have ‪Carroll‬ at ‪Milan‬.'

His interview with Corriere dello Sport

“This is another Milan, a younger Milan, and it’s right every now and then to change and start a new project,” said Piersilvio Berlusconi in the Corriere dello Sport.

“Who would I like to see at Milan? Well it’s too obvious to say Andres Iniesta, so let’s just say I was impressed with the physicality of England striker Carroll. I would love to sign him.”

Meanwhile, the club has snapped up Riccardo Montolivo on a free transfer from Fiorentina and resisted the PSG millions for Thiago Silva.

“Montolivo is a player with character and I like him. Keeping Thiago Silva at this moment of financial crisis in Italy shows an incredible passion for football.

“Zlatan Ibrahimovic is staying and, like all artists, must be accepted for who he is.”

More Kalou

Liverpool are believed to be interested in securing the services of Salomon Kalou after the attacker became a free agent on July 1.

Chelsea did not offer the forward a new contract and he was eventually allowed to leave the club as he looks for a new challenge after six successful years with the west London club.

Kalou won the Premier League, four FA Cups, the League Cup and the Champions League during his time at Stamford Bridge and he certainly brings a wealth of experience at the very highest level.

ESPN is reporting that Liverpool are one of several clubs that are hoping to persuade Kalou to join them. One problem for the Reds is that they will not be able to offer Champions League football, something that the Senegal international has grown accustomed to.

The 26-year-old previously played in Holland where he spent three years with Feyenoord, but much will now depend on whether he wants to test himself in another league, or if he would prefer to stay in England.

Liverpool are certainly looking to add some attacking options after their own former Feyenoord forward Dirk Kuyt left the club.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers will have to hope that he can convince Kalou that he can take the club forward after a disappointing league campaign under kenny Dalglish as Liverpool finished in eighth place.

Providing he's an option, i think he's a brilliant one to have.

If he's first choice..... Bit disheartening but i'm confident he'd do a good job

I really hope we don't sign Kalou. He strikes me as a massive bellend and would probably see joining us as a step-down.

His stats are surprisingly good but he's never impressed me.

Said it before, but I don't mind Kalou as a squaddie.

Our wide options are very limited and aging, but Jules is right in saying that we will still need better.

Serie A side Palermo have rejected an offer from an unnamed Premiership outfit for key midfielder Josip Ilicic.

“I can confirm that Palermo received at least one bid from a Premier League club for Josip,” agent Amir Ruznic told Zurnal24.

“However, President Maurizio Zamparini immediately turned it down.

“I can’t tell you the name of the team who had a go at signing Ilicic, but they are a medium-to-high club in the Division.”

The 24-year-old Slovenian international scored two goals in 33 League games for the Rosanero in the 2011-12 campaign.

He joined the Italian outfit from Maribor in the summer of 2010.

Yeh he sounds prolific for an attacking mid. Two whole goals !!! Sign him !
First team football for 2 years:

2010-11 - 8 goals, 7 assists
2011-12 - 5 goals, 5 assists

He's more a playmaker than a goalscoring type anyway.
