The Moyes Effect

I think there would be up roar if Rooney was sold. The media has portrayed him as almost a mistreated character who is selflessly continuing to play well. The fans will be lapping that shit up!

I may be wrong but I reckon that Rooney is playing for a move.
There obviously wasn't sufficient interest at the price that Man U were prepared to sell him for during the summer.
A revitalized Rooney should generate a little bit more interest and if Moyes does fail it will be the perfect time for him to jump ship

It's a decent call. The one positive for Moyes is that Rooney is stupid enough to let others provoke him into yet another PR disaster, and the fans won't stand for one more of those. The best thing Moyes can do is line up a younger, fitter, fan-friendly striker for January, let Rooney fume and do his usually bone-headed sulking as a consequence and then bomb him out after Christmas.

I still can't quite bring myself to revel in it too much because, well, it's Utd and they always seem to bounce back. It hasn't quite sinked in that things have changed there.

I think one of the problems they have is that they've lost their edge in the transfer market. A lot of the top players are following the money and right now there are just too many teams that can outspend Utd. They probably need to look at some of the up and coming players rather than the Falcao's of this world but are they ready to do that?

They have defo got the money. They put a massive bid in for Bale at the last minute didn't they? And they wanted Fabregas. I mean they spent 27.5 on Fellatio... their fourth highest priced signing ever and probs in a world top 30 or something.

They just don't know how to spend it... and world class players aren't going to be flocking to a sinking ship with Gollum at the helm.

Maybe I've misread the situation but I couldn't see Rooney staying there long-term anyway after they appointed Moyes. Too much water under the bridge.

Pity Everton got Martinez. He is doing well with them. It would have been a win - win scenario for us is someone like Mark Hughes got that job.

Will I start a David Moyes meme thread for us? As in we create our own.
The Lucas one we had was a rip roaring success and it might even drag Avvy and his MS Paint out of the woodwork?

And they always have, but it's truly the Moyes Effect with Mr Ferguson no longer in the picture.

Dude, if you're gonna make gifs you gotta stick his head on Scott Tenenbaum or whatever his name is... the dude Cartman is licking the salty tears of.

No way! Theres a whole world of internet out there, ripping the arse out of Moyes won't be complete until someone changes the subtitles in that hitler video to be about united hiring Moyes.

So Ryan, what do you make of United's start to the season and their future prospects??

It seems you only post about United to shower them with praise.

I don't know what your second sentence means.

Re your first; pretty uninspiring if you're an United fan. I said previously that what Ferguson did with that squad over the last 2 years was miraculous really and that's becoming more evident now.

They don't have enough quality out wide, he's persisting with an ageing back four, I'm not a huge fan of the goalkeeper, Fellaini was the wrong acquisition, they're playing dreadful football, and RVP is obviously a loss.

I watched the first half of the West Brom game and couldn't believe how they allowed WBA to play in their half. United side's of the previous 10 years would never have allowed them to get comfortbal and build momentum, but under Moyes they seem to be under instrcutions to get their shape and maintain it, as opposed to immediately pressuring the ball-carrier.

I can't see Moyes working. He's fundamentally not an attacking coach, and he's at a club that is fundamentally an attacking one. One of them has to change, and it won't be the club.

After another look, you're right, it made no sense at all. Edited now. ha.

Yes i agree with that. Rio and Evra look shot to pieces, and Vidic isn't the player he was either - them 3 were massive influences on the United team a few years ago.

I wouldn't go writing the cunts off because we've been there before only to look silly come May time, but it really doesn't look good for them this season.

Gary Neville was talking about Moyes on Monday Night Football and seems convinced he'll be given 3-4 years to make his mark.
