The Italian stallion

Who is/was 737Max?

As an aside, WTF did Chiesa do to the Juve management that made them accept a ludicrously low offer?

Is he about to get cancelled for betting/dog wanking/drugs and it'll all come out on the 4th September?
It's one of the Scandos, isn't it? I can't remember their original name now.

If Chiesa plays anywhere close to his potential, he'll become an instant fan favourite.

So were Díaz and Nunez, and neither has been good enough, we are still hoping that both start doing things they consistently haven't so far.

I want forwards at that next level. I'm not saying they are easy to find, although I've been lucky enough to watch more than a handful, but they are harder to find the way we are looking.

We are trying to move on from a world class front three. We don't need to find all those goals but we do need some of these option players to be more than that, otherwise our attacking options will continue being strongest I've ever seen, while our best team isn't close. Maybe this will be the one, but I don't see it. I'd love if he means that we don't need to play Salah every game when he's inevitably faded for months, or, even better, to manage his minutes a tad so we don't need to see that version of him.

The counterpoint is that this is just great business. He is cheap as shit, and even if he gets through a season and just does ok with no major injury, at the very worst he, like any of the other options we have, has resale value and we can keep trying to trade up.

Everything we've done this summer reads as perfectly fine if we didn't have looming holes next year.

This kinda looks like an amazing value signing that allows us to put more eggs in the basket of a statement signing. Painfully, the fee paid for Nunez was borderline 'statement signing' but he has struggled. It looks like Slot needs to be convinced by him too which in a way is a shame as with 5% better finishing he could have had 25 league goals.

It's hard to say what slot makes of him, he was never going to play in these couple games.

Didn't he return back from Copa America at the same time as Diaz, who has started both? They both got to the last stage of Copa America in the summer.

If we're honest I think this will be Nunez last season here. Slot might want to work with him this season but the chances of that being successful are slim imho.

We need Jota to stay fit.

True but Jota and Diaz are ahead of Nunez in the pecking order, especially given the opposition. I'm not sure that's different than last year. We have 8 day stretches between games and I think slot just wants some consistency and understanding, but not to worry we will start seeing everything fall apart with the 3 day grind soon enough. If Nunez sits on the bench as gakpo did for much of last season, then he will be off next year, but like gakpo last it'll be of his own doing. It isn't as though jota is going to be a fixture throughout the season.

He is him, just like Thiago was him... (if it wasn't for the injuries)

Yes agree 100% that once weekday fixtures enter the party we will see a more fluid front line. I am actually keen to se Darwin in our team, I want him to succeed and with his raw talent, it would be brilliant for us if he finds his form and confidence.

Excuse me what what is the Frog doing in London without sending the bat signal to the London SCM lads for an impromptu drinkies?!
Haha in and out. Happy to meet up for a daytime drinkies ! I'm out of here in just over a week.

I want him to have a purple patch because at his best he's the most fun to watch, because his raw athletic abilities are how you begin to draw a striker up when you are furiously wanking and feeling shame due to centuries old homophobic discourses. The trouble there is not finishing.

Mostly though, because some idiot team would spend money on him and we could all shut up about what a waste it was.

Then, to my surprise, there's still the battered wife part of me, like 5% that thinks all of a sudden he will learn how to operate his own machinery that little bit better, that instead of handing the controller to his younger brother who is eating crisps every time he strikes the ball, he might just do something boring.
