Martin Montoya’s agent has revealed that the Inter and Liverpool target is happy at Barcelona and any move is down to the Catalans.
The defender, whose contract expires in June 2014, has been linked with a move out of the Camp Nou this summer in a reported bid to guarantee first-team action in a World Cup year.
Even so, his representative has hinted that a move out of Barca is by no means guaranteed.
“Right now the situation is pretty clear. The player is owned by Barcelona and has a contract with the club until 2014,” commented Jose Maria Orobitg to TuttoMercatoWeb.
“There are talks involving the two clubs. If Inter want him then they must agree things with Barcelona.
“As far as we are concerned, as long as Barca do not tell us that the player is for sale there will be no problems.
“He is happy in Catalonia, everything depends on Barcelona.”
Valencia defender Adil Rami looks likely to leave the club in the summer, reports in the Spanish Press have claimed.
Marca believe that the French centre-back will depart from Mestalla come the end of the season, with bids of around €12.5m likely to be enough to secure his signature.
Zenit St Petersburg had an offer of €15m rejected last summer, but the paper have insisted that niggling injuries and a relative loss of form will see him leave for €2.5m less than that.
Clubs from England, France and Italy are all said to be interested in making a move.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is chasing Toulouse’s Tunisian centre-half Aymen Abdennour.
The Kop chief’s spies will look at the £5million-rated 23-year-old when he faces Marseille this weekend.
Rodgers is looking to land a couple of new centre-backs for the Reds, with Jamie Carragher retiring at the end of this season, and Abdennour has made the short-list.
Abdennour is left-sided and can also play full-back, but it is as a centre-half that he has been a major figure for club and country in the past couple of years.
Barcelona have also looked at Abdennour to help shore up their leaky defence, but he is interested in the Premier League and hopes to convince Liverpool he is their man this weekend.
He looks about 35.
Barca and Arsenal are also monitoring him so he must be doing something right.

Our main weakness at the back is defending in the air (besides concentration) but that clip, unfortunately, gives zero indication of how he is in that area. It seems like corners and cTrollcoes are outlawed in the French game.
His passing is not dissimilar to Agger's. Comfortable with the ball, no-nonsense, fairly quick.
Any good? I am confused as The Mirror describes him as a CB who can also play LB but his wiki reckons his preferred position is LW but he usually plays LB. He also looks fat in his wiki picture.Get French Football (@GFN_France)

Abdennour has been a regular feature in the Toulouse side so far this season. He used to play in left midfield or at left back, but this year, he has played consistently in a central defensive position. The Tunisian has been noted for his passing and heading ability, as well as his ability to be composed on the ball and his concentration throughout, which all the best players need. The 23 year old does occasionally wade into challenges and if he went to Spain, where referees are probably less lenient, he would need to stamp this out of his game. The player is only 23 and has room to grow, but playing at the highest level would be a big step up and only time will tell if he could manage this.
For a 23 year old, however, Abdennour has more experience than most. He started his career at Etoile Sportive du Sahel in 2008. Many European clubs send their scouts over to Africa to try to pick up the next big thing and soon enough, Werder Bremen of the Bundesliga agreed to take Abdennour on a sort of trial period, on loan, in 2010. He played here for half a season, but only got six league games under his belt. Bremen decided against signing him permanently, but this move has provided him with vital experience for the future at such a young age. He continued to impress at his club though and soon in July 2011 Toulouse snapped him up for an undisclosed fee. He has impressed despite there being strong competition at the club, he now has a contract till 2016 and is both a regular for club and country.
So it looks like Abdennour will be yet another player leaving Ligue 1 in the summer, possibly to Spain or England. Watch this space.
